"Dishonest"

Response to comments made by Cooper & Tanner's on 04/11/21 following my original review from February 2020: It is true that my claim was unsuccessful as a result of providing insufficient evidence of the claim amount. My legal inexperience led to an oversight which cost me the claim; - lesson learned. However, what Cooper & Tanner have failed to state as a result of more than sufficient produced evidence, is the Judge concluded clearly and without any hesitancy that Cooper & Tanner did break their contract with me. They were shown to be in material breach of the contract terms previously agreed and C&T did not dispute this in the courtroom when challenged by the Judge. Based on this fact, to state "our reputation remains intact" is dishonest and untrue. To me, their reputation lies in tatters. As they violated their contract with me; I can only assume they have and will with others. Once again; - landlords be warned! To state "we act in both our landlords and tenants best interests at all times" is utter rubbish. They act in THEIR best interests at all times. Not all letting estate agents offer as poor a service as I received from Cooper & Tanner. Certainly for me though, this experience has put me off using agents to manage my properties which I now do very successfully on my own and at a considerable saving.

"Avoid"

Will be avoiding this company across all of it’s various businesses due to a very poor experience on a brief letting. Tenants are treated as if they are lesser beings, the management of the work needed to maintain the house comes under ‘Heath Robinson’ mentality and communication needs a great deal of work to be effective. They have certainly lost my business.

"Excellent 5* Company"

Our purchase was dealt with by Darren Woodyer, Development Manager at Coopers & Tanner in Frome, and we honestly cannot fault the excellent service we received.

We were kept fully informed of progress throughout and it was obvious from the start that their wide-ranging knowledge and experience of all matters relating to the purchase of land was going to be really useful.

We were always made to feel our calls were important and any questions we had were answered promptly. Our purchase was not a straightforward one so their advice and assistance from start to finish proved invaluable.

An excellent company that we would have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending.

"Awful Service"

Appointed Cooper and Tanner to sell my house, they seemed to be positive and able to give a good service, appearances are deceptive. The first buyers they got gave a false address which only came to light when I asked to meet them as we were downsizing and I had been told they were moving from a flat so wondered if there was anything they would like. First shock came when I got told I had included my range which I clearly stated when signing them up it was not included. This then went on to say that they were not living at the address given, may have explained why their solicitor was not answering mine. They decided two days later they were not proceeding. Cooper and Tanner found a new buyer but would not listen when I said I did not want it marked as sold until their mortgage was in place, lockdown happened and their solicitor said it was all on hold until I said remarket strangely, after lockdown was eased for the housing market their mortgage broke would not arrange anything as the surveying company was not doing homebuyers surveys. Cooper and Tanner organised a survey who slated the property from every respect and opened cupboards moved private confidential files this survey was sent to us via cooper and tanner when the couple said no they did not want the house. As I questioned so much of what he had written I have had a full structural survey and civil engineers report on the loft and chimney as this seemed to be a big issue for both of them to tell me that his report was incorrect and moving things he had was not allowed under the guidance given. I am so glad Cooper and Tanner do not manage my rental properties as I would never trust any work man they appointed. An expensive exercise but should I decide to sell again all reports will be available for serious purchasers. A company to avoid and certainly no loss if they do not continue

Friendly service and helped get the sale through when the solicitors appeared to not be pulling their weight. Would recommend.
