"Memorable experience!"
Recently, I came back from an amazing experience. In fact, I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro with Climbing Kilimanjaro (CK) and it was beyond any set expectations.
More than a year prior the climb, I got in touch with CK, and Naishie kindly helped me plan the trip. She provided all the necessary details and answered all the questions I may have had. Through the year, we kept in touch and updated each other whenever it was needed until I landed in Arusha.
Upon arrival, both Vitalis, our driver, and Victor, my guide, were waiting for me. We drove to the hotel, as per the shared agenda, and met Naishie who was waiting for me. We debriefed on the climb to come, and reviewed the equipment to ensure I had everything prior starting the climb. The next day, I met the rest of the crew (6 porters, 1 chef).
All the staff were supportive, kind and helpful through the climb. Victor is an extremely knowledgeable guide and focus on your well-being, health, while also entertaining you and ensuring you have the best experience possible. It was an honor to be guided by him and summiting together. Our chef, Nanyaro, was a true magician. Everyday, he brought more and more surprising food. The food was DELICIOUS! and he always did his best to have a nice presentation. Considering the environment, the altitude, the conditions, I never felt it was "camping" food. Either it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner time, I was always looking forward to it.
The list of highlights could go on and on, but I wouldn't want to spoil it for you.
Of course, thank you to the porters (Suleman, Sanguela, and the rest) for their effort, dedication and good mood!
After the climb, and a well deserved shower, I went on a safari planned by Nay as well. Same as for the climb, everything was as discussed and agreed. My driver was Emmanuel and we had a great time. Knowledgeable, caring and entertaining, he ensured I enjoyed my trip. Without any impact on wildlife, he still did his best for me to see as many animals as possible while sharing stories on his country, and his experience.
It's been a couple of weeks that I have been back, and with perspective, I can only suggest this company to you if you wish to climb Mt Kilimanjaro and/or go on Safaris!! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me, or Nay (Naishie).
Again, Asante sana CK for this memorable experience!

"CLIMBING KILIMANJARO: Best Guides on the Mountain!"
So I feel like now that the dust has literally settled down and I’ve washed it all off of me, I want to give the hugest most expressive shout out to the company that got me to the top of the mountain and back down CLIMBING KILIMANJARO! "Climbing Kilimanjaro with Climbing Kilimanjaro"
Just returned home after a successful summit of Kilimanjaro. Without doubt one of the best things I've done - awesome in the true sense of the word and incredibly humbling. If you are reading this I imagine you are at least entertaining the idea of climbing Africa's tallest mountain which also means you are probably looking at tour providers. I cannot praise Climbing Kilimanjaro enough as a company. We (myself, father in law, brother in law and 'cousin in law') all felt incredibly well looked after by our head guide Abdi Makina, our assistant guide, Naiman Akyoo and the whole team.
I could go on and on about our time on the Mountain but a few points to cover that elevated the experience above what I was expecting;
1) The welcome we were given by everyone was incredibly moving to me, we were treated like family.
2) The knowledge of Abdi and Naiman was above and beyond - they didn't just get us up the mountain, their love and respect for the Kilimanjaro National Park was evident and we would regularly stop to hear something on a native plant for example. This in particular was very special as I didn't notice a lot of other guides doing this.
3) I tried to learn some basic Swahili and was met with nothing but encouragement and warmth from the whole team.
4) Climbing Kilimanjaro are part of Leave No Trace - which was incredibly important to me - The Lava Tower was an unfortunate disappointment as there is a lot of rubbish there currently, so being with guides that are not part of that issue or that allow any of their clients to be is incredibly important. I cannot fathom why people would go somewhere so beautiful and then not treat it with respect.
5) Altitude and exhaustion hit me hard coming down from the summit and Abdi and one of our porters Shaban Ramadhan made sure I was kept safe and helped down to the previous camp along with our whole team. It was a very slow descent but they keep our spirits up and at some points literally held me up.
For all these reasons and so many more I would not hesitate to recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro, Abdi and Naiman to anyone looking to climb this incredible mountain.
One final note here as I think our entire team deserve to be highlighted:
Lazaro Mollol - Our incredible chef who regularly left us stunned at his ability to cook delicious and healthy meals for us in the most remote locations. He was also the leader of the singing and his energy knew no bounds.
Fanuel John - Our server who made sure we ate enough food and drank enough to keep us going.
Shaban Ramadan - One of the amazing tent crew, but more importantly he took my bag when I was in need most and kept me going down the mountain.
Mathayo Lomnyaki - our toilet porter. We originally weren't going to bother with a private toilet but I can safely say its money well spent. It can't be the nicest job to be in charge of the toilet for a week but Mathayo was always warm and fun to be around and he always made sure the toilet was ready when needed at camp. Mathayo also helped us summit and keep everyones spirits up singing as we climbed.
Our porters, Daniel Gide, Gasper Christupha, Sadam Waziri, William Eliamini, Elibariki Elinego, Saul Magawa, Paulo John, Godfrey Sabini, Agusino Michel, Songa Nzilo, Zakaria Limburisi, Ashani Abdala and (the only female porter I saw on the mountain) Maria Pasiani. Thank you to you all - after some days which were tougher than expected you were always smiling, happy to chat, fun to be around and encouraging to us.
Thank you all
PS no review or video diary mentioned this that I saw, getting down is a full 8 hour descent. Sounds obvious but everyone always focussing on summiting - of course. Getting down is tough on the knees so having poles really helps. Your toes will slide forward in your footwear too so make sure to save a pair of decent thick hiking socks for the descent day.

"Incredible Team and Experience!"
I completed a 7-day Machame route trek in October 2022 with Climbing Kilimanjaro and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The Climbing Kilimanjaro team was extremely professional and gave me complete confidence in my ability to make it to the summit while having an incredible time along the way. Omar, Selim and Barnabas were very knowledgeable and provided great insight into the history of the mountain, as well as the various terrain and climate zones we traversed.
Our entire team of porters had an infectious energy that made all of the hikers feel right at home. Our cook, Godfrey, kept us well fed and fueled for the trip with robust and well-rounded meals (highlight of the trip). Juma, our waiter, boosted morale with many unexpected creature comforts. By the end of the trip, we felt like a tight knit family.
Can’t recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro highly enough for anyone hoping to summit The Roof of Africa!

"These guys are just simply put very…"
These guys are just simply put very good at what they do. I really couldn't have asked for more. We successfully made it to the summit as well.

"Climbing Kilimanjaro Rocks!!"
I recently did the 8 day Lemosho trek with Climbing Kilimanjaro and had such a great time I can’t stop thinking about it! I can’t recommend this route or this company enough!
Re: the route— you get to see every ecological zone on Kili and each is so different and beautiful it’s well worth the longer trip to weave your way through the amazing landscape.
Re: Climbing Kilimanjaro — Our lead guide, Tumaini, and assistant guides — Edward, Thomas, Samuel, and Sheve — were truly fantastic. They are funny & kind and made us all feel immediately welcome and at ease. They are also knowledgeable and happy to share information about the mountain, about Tanzania, about the various cultures and identities, the Swahili language, and whatever else you’re curious about!
Outside of the guides, our porters were rockstars — carrying our duffles and supporting us every step of the way up the mountain. And we had fabulous chefs who provided us warm, delicious, and nutritious meals throughout the journey. I wasn’t expecting the food to be so good given the difficulties of cooking and camping but CK delivered some damn good meals! They really go above and beyond in every respect to ensure you have a positive experience.
In short, the CK team is filled with wonderful people who you’ll befriend quickly and will miss dearly after your climb! Their friendliness and their fun-loving spirits are contagious and really take the experience to the next level.
Even before starting the trek, Justin was so accommodating and helpful, taking the time to thoughtfully answer all my questions (and there were many!).
Choosing to climb with CK was the best decision I’ve made in my travels. Not only are they a great company who guarantees a great time on the mountain, but they're an upstanding company (and I'm convinced the best operator on the mountain) — taking good care of their porters and staff which is not something that can be said for every climbing company. I was specifically moved by how much Tumaini cared about the well-being of his team.
If you want to hike Kili, do yourself a favor and book with Climbing Kilimanjaro.
Asante sana Climbing Kilimanjaro for looking after all of us and giving us such a memorable experience!

"Amazing Experience and Trip of a lifetime with my Family"
I recently came back from Tanzania with my family, from doing the Lemosho Route summiting to Mount Kilimanjaro on September 4th - September 11th. It was a trans formative experience we all had that will not be forgotten. It was shared with so many special people who all helped make this trip possible to complete the climb.
From what I observed from the supporting staff (Guides / Porters/ Chefs / Servers), They do not have an easy job, and I found it quite moving how hard everyone worked to make our experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Not only was 8 days on the mountain not an easy task, along with the physical, mental, and environmental strain, all the support staff I interacted with had an AMAZING attitude, happy to help, grateful, and was truly touching by getting to interact with them on a personal level to learn and grow as people and learn from one another's way of life. I also must add that they baked a cake and sang Happy Birthday to me, which was so moving it brought me to tears, making it a birthday I will always remember.
Thank you for making our Families Climb and trip to Africa a trip of a lifetime!

"Amazing Experience!"
This was quite an amazing experience with a very impressive company!! The guides and porters did everything they could to ensure that our trip was safe, successful, and even comfortable. Everything was well organized and thought out to the final detail. Staff attitude was fantastic, and we all bonded together, staff and climbers alike. As a vegan, the cooks took extra care to provide satisfying meals for me. I honestly cannot think of anything that needed improvement. Well, a few members of my group complained that the zippers of their sleeping bags didn’t work properly. Others said that they slept cold. My sleeping bag worked fine and I was warm and comfortable all night, every night. But you might want to take the sleeping bag complaints into consideration and even consider bringing your own sleeping bag from home.
There was a total of 13 climbers in my group, and we did the Lemosho 8-day route from Sept. 4 - 11.

"Unreal Experience with Climbing Kilimanjaro!"
I had an amazing experience with Climbing Kilimanjaro! Daniel, Jonas, and Salim were incredible guides. They were very knowledgeable, charismatic, fun, and reassuring. Lots of laughs and good times on the trail with these guys! If you can get them specifically I'd highly recommend you do :) We felt cared for and well attended to the whole way, and I never for a moment felt that safety was a concern. The songs the team sang going up to the summit kept morale high! Everyone on the team made us feel like part of the family. The whole experience by Climbing Kilimanjaro was beautifully engineered, from the amazing meals, to the songs, to the sunrise from the summit (the best sunrise of my life) - very happy I chose to climb with them!
