Wow. Reviewed this company a couple years ago when I purchased two NVR's and 64 cameras for a manufacturing company installation (around $20,000 at the time). Gave them a great score at the time for assistance during the sale and some basic questions during setup.
Today I needed some help with their software crashing on my PC. Pretty hard to monitor the 64 cameras through the web interface because there are two NVR's. Called support as they have been helpful in the past assuming they'd know how to point me in the direction of a solution. They even sent me an email THIS MORNING about how their company culture starts with LOVE THE CUSTOMER.
Boy was I wrong! Basically, I was told to try another computer as uninstalling and re-installing hadn't changed anything. I asked if there was a second tier of support that might have more suggestions. The rep was "placing me on hold to look for someone" but didn't really mute his mic. I could hear every word of him bad-mouthing me, dropping the f-bomb about me with another rep, getting irritated about me calling with a software problem with my PC as that obviously isn't their problem. It is the software SCW provides, so yes, it is SCW Support's problem to take care of. They didn't even offer to try to find what the error code is to do further troubleshooting.
I can generally shrug off stuff like that and just leave him with an, "oh, by the way, your mic wasn't muted" at the end of the call. But he took this too far when I was being very calm, polite, and trying to get to a solution with him. I had him on speaker on my end while I was working on something and a co-worker of mine was shocked at how I'd been treated. If this is how their company shows they LOVE THE CUSTOMER, then I no longer want to be their customer.
Maybe this is a one-off bad apple, but buyer beware. Their software might fail on you and you might be treated like this too. Free support for life that tells you to use another PC is worth that free price tag, I suppose, but I feel I need to charge them for their rudeness!
