"Most terrible experience I've ever had…"

Most terrible experience I've ever had with a company. Had to make a claim, and the person in charge of my case didn't listen to a word I said. Would ask me the same question over and over again even though I had given a CLEAR answer multiple times. I've always thought writing reviews was a waste of time until now.

"Pathetic and unreasonable"

I was following through with a quote and wanted to start my journey with square one home insurance.
Unfortunately my banking info was entered with an error and so no withdrawal was conducted even though I was not given an option of when my first withdrawal would be.
I was out of country immediately following and when I returned I called to clarify and rewrite the policy I had stated by was denied because i made an entry error on my banking and couldn't return the calls or email when I was abroad.
Unbelievable!! Poor rational and unreasonable underwriters

"Square One not a real company"

I had two minor water leaks and because the damage was around $1000 each, I decided to cover the repair cost myself. However, Square One decided that my house was "too risky" to insure and terminated my policy. Find yourself a real insurance company.

"Completely Out Of Touch With Reality"

I just wasted three days trying to apply for insurance with this company and dealing with
their ridiculous demands. First, they wanted aerial photos of the house so they could look at the
roof. Then they needed to know the exact size of every different part of the house and I had to
send them the home inspection report. Then they needed to refer it to someone else. They promised
followup calls and emails, none of which ever came. After I updated my quote and had them call me
again, they said they couldn't provide coverage because of three small blemishes to the exterior
siding. No house, even a new build, is perfect but clearly that's the only kind these guys are
interested in. Don't waste your time!

The most notorious display ads Ive ever encountered that I bothered to write a review. The frequency I see their ads all over websites and apps is at least 20 a day. Im a marketing specialist myself, there is a way to cap frequency. First google help article that comes up on the query “Frequency capping display google ads”.

I submitted a claim on a robbery that happened to me at my home. I had bought Square One tenant insurance and contacted them the day of. They said they would get back to me, and so I waited. The adjustor called and had presented awful and unprofessional customer service. She seemed happy to say no to my claim, although I've been paying for tenant insurance for a year and a half. It was still thousands of dollars of my belongings, lost. She said because it was purchased for a small idea "business" that it was unclaimable. So then I asked to speak with someone else. No one called me. So I filed another claim. No one called again. I called into Square one a total of 3 times in a span of a week, and each time they said another adjustor would call me. Seems like they were trying to decide who would deal with me in the back end while ignoring my request. Finally, yesterday they called and said they were going to go ahead and cancel my latest claim request, and I said yes. I could claim my Christmas gift from my boyfriend - a massage table because he was an RMT, my steamer, and my suitcase. Mind you, the massage table was only 189.99, the steamer was $60, and the suitcase was $200. All very reasonable compared to my business start-up inventory that was $6000 that was stolen that they REFUSED to cover. And I agreed. I said sure just cover the 3 other things that were stolen. She agreed on the phone yesterday at 3pm. Today, at 10:47am, called me to say they declined it because they were confused that I submitted two claims. I submitted two claims because the first one was ignored. And just yesterday on the phone she said that she would cancel my other claim, and I agreed. So your excuse to not cover anything at all is because you're confused? And there's nothing I can do about it? The call center people have no idea what they're doing they just are trained to have a "that's that, I can't help you. I'm going to disconnect the call now" method. It doesn't make any sense how they can just not cover anything because I made a mistake. (if you would even call it that. I was ignored so I submitted 2 claims.)

I even asked to speak to someone else and she said "I'm the highest up there's no one above me in the call center." So where do I go for customer service at Square One?

And the fact that she said herself that she would cancel the other claim on the phone, just yesterday, and even in email... I have the receipts.

Just because nothing has happened to you yet, you would say this place has a great customer service. Well their customer service truly ends when a claim starts.

Would give this 0 stars if I could, they are a a complete scam. This “insurance” company probably gets people to write reviews for them because once they get you to purchase any insurance, within a year if something happens to you and you try to file a claim for your property you’ve been paying for, they absolutely demolish you and try everything in their power so that you don’t get ANYTHING. Square One’s GOAL is so that they can AVOID payment if POSSIBLE. The worst adjuster is CONNIE HUYNH she is committed to providing the worst customer service and she’s not happy until you are unhappy. I’ve asked to speak to anyone besides Connie Huynh and she repeatedly butted in to the conversation and acted extremely unprofessionally without hearing my needs as a customer. It was the most unpleasant time I have ever dealt with an “adjustor” and to be frank this is my first time writing a negative review about someone, but in order to help others I am feeling the need to do it. I am warning you now do NOT go with square one your insurance will go to waste. It’s a SCAM.
