I opened a one year business bond many weeks ago and, after receiving an application ref, heard nothing. So about three weeks ago I called them to be told they had a large number of applications and these were being done "manually". I should wait and they would be in touch. Today still nothing, so i called them and spoke to someone, only to be disconnected after a few minutes. No call back. Very disappointed with them, but on checking other banks I see the rate they were offering has been surpassed by others. So I will now opt for one of the competition. Very slack service.

I have no reason to doubt that Allica will keep my money safe and pay the promised rate of interest (which are, after all, the key points), but their website and IT seem rather unreliable.

Purchased a one-year business savings bond. Very slick online account opening process (compared to the clunky process of a rival challenger bank). Having completed the application, it would have been nice to have received an email confirmation and an indication of roughly how long the approval would take. In the event, it was 3 days. That aside, it's all good. Early days yet, but I get the impression that this is a friendly bank with good customer service.
