I raised money through the platform in 2011. I don't remember how long I waited until angels got interested and how many - I think there were around a dozen. I'd recommend everyone to just wait, let the platform work. Now I'm raising money again and I guess I should have tried to do that each year for new ideas to at least validate them. The fees are little compared to what you're asking (compared to the potential). In any case - I think that fundraising should have a budget itself - you can't expect to make money without investing into propagation of yourself and your plan. At this point I really think that the best approach in creating something is to first do an MVP, try to go onto.. AIN, or if compatible than Kickstarter or such and even if you don't get enough funds than at least get feedback, check validation, restructure, take things into account, redo (rewind, play again). I do know people who work on something for years and just sit on their idea, not showing it to enough people, not getting any validation, checking the market. I also do indie game production - there we have a golden rule that we invest a bit of money, go to Kickstarter and have the idea validated before we spend a year in production. But not all products / areas are good for KS - there AIN comes to play. ~excuse the rant & thoughts~

This is a great platform to engage with Angel Imvestors with projects that require startup funding. I just wish that the startup funds we put up for the pitch did more than just place it on the site for others to find, and wish it proactively alerted investors on a daily basis in an effort to assist in obtaining investors. Still feel like I'm hunting investors down myself, and dislike that I have to pay more just to nudge possible investors.
