Last year I graduated from college with a degree in Digital Marketing. When I started looking for a job, I realized that it was not as easy as I thought it would be. Hiring companies want to see relevant experience, which I didn’t have! Studying digital marketing and practicing digital marketing are two different things. I applied for an apprenticeship to gain hands-on experience that I was missing, and this is where Trent’s and my path were crossed.
Trent was my first mentor, and DropshipXL was my first apprenticeship. During my apprenticeship, he was extremely supportive with the entire learning process. We had a weekly hour-long call where he walked me through various processes. He provided guidance on how to implement social marketing strategies, how to launch an email marketing campaign, and taught me SEO. In addition, I learned how to implement marketing tools such as Ahrefs, Aweber, and many others and how to use WordPress. I was impressed with how knowledgeable Trent is. He not only helped me to gain hands-on marketing experience but also made me more confident in my professional skills. Confidence is the essential part of success. I feel confident that the skills that I’ve developed will help me in my professional career.

I’ve been attempting to make a living online for a while bouncing back and forth between eBay, Amazon and my own Shopify store but never stuck with anything long enough to make it work. Unfortunately, one of my biggest challenges is information overload and feeling like I have to figure it all out NOW.

When I saw Trent’s offer for a Free 30-minute consultation, I couldn’t pass it up and once we spoke, I quickly realized the wealth of information he possessed that I needed to tap into.

I have to say he’s an amazing guy and so kind! He shared with me the most extensive document I’ve ever seen that laid everything out in actionable steps. At the time, I had so much on my plate that I was in overwhelm mode and one of the first things he told me was to let go and move beyond the thing that kept me paralyzed. Just that quickly, he completely took it off my plate which allowed me to move forward.

Looking back, it sounds kind of ridiculous, but I probably would have allowed those feelings of frustration to take over and keep me stuck. He then gave me specific action steps for product research with the goal of finding 5-10 winning products that I could test. Just breaking down the process into bite size pieces was super beneficial.

For a very long time I had also wanted to tackle Google Shopping Ads and Trent helped me set up my account and submit my first ads to Google in the blink of an eye!

He also impressed upon me the importance of funnels and making money on the back end with email campaigns, so these will be next on my list.

Knowing that I have a type of road map that I can go back to at any time is a tremendous benefit. I’ve seen a little success but realize I still have a lot of work to do. I’m also confident that as I move forward, I’ll be back for his services again. It’s such a relief to know there’s someone I can reach out to so that I don’t have to do this alone. I have been working with Trent Jessee for about a month now. I feel like I've known him for many years. He is thoughtful and intelligent. He listens for information and every time we talk, I learn something new.

Before I met Trent, I had been trying to establish an e-Commerce business for 4 months. I lost a lot of money working with other establishments. I was very frustrated, and when I voiced my frustration with those people I trusted with my money, it was clear to me that they had given me all they had to offer, which wasn’t very much. Up front, they knew that this was a late in life career move for this nurse. I brought with me customer service skills, respect for others, wisdom, adequate computer skills. What I needed was the business specific knowledge to get an online store up and running and producing revenue NOW. This had not occurred, and everyday that passed found me in a higher state of anxiety. Even in my state of high anxiety I was clear about my goals: get a professional looking website up and running ASAP with high quality product in my chosen niche, generating revenue NOW, all the while gaining knowledge about becoming an e-Commerce professional.

One day I came across information from Trent’s Watchman Advisors. I read everything and became very excited. This was different and i could already sense a cultural fit for me. Ii signed up for Dropship XL immediately. But the big word that caught my eye was mentoring. I signed up for an introductory meeting, and soon I was speaking directly to Trent.

I speak with Trent every week and have learned so much. I think the most important lessons learned and skills I have developed thus far in my mentoring journey include the following:
1.Early on it became apparent that by hook or crook I needed a laptop or desktop. I got a Mac Book Pro, and it has made my work much easier. In addition to his many skills, Trent (himself a PC user) has helped me to gain command over this little Mac monster and my confidence grows daily.
2.Finding appropriate product is important, and it can come from several sources. I have learned it is important to have well rounded sources in order to have sustained cash flow.
3.Populating my site with product was a big challenge at first. With practice I have gotten better, though I'm still not as slick as Trent! I plan to do this for the long term, so I can see that one day this challenge will become easy.
4.I have never blogged before. I never really understood the importance of a blog. I do now and my first one will be posted this weekend.

I believe meeting Trent was providential. I am now confident that with hard work i can meet my goals.

Trent is one those Mentors on whom you can rely on to kick start your eCommerce journey. His immense knowledge, great understanding and the ability to share is unbeatable. To summarize, your journey is divided into 7 phases from idea to run the show. He mentors you for 1-hour (which is usually stretched to 1.5 hours) each week for 7 weeks in which we concentrated on a particular phase of the journey. The systems and methods he shares makes your journey very smooth and most importantly his support and motivation is 24/7.

Prior to getting mentoring from Trent I had a vision of creating a content focused website. I expected it to take 1-2 years before getting any real rankings or traffic, purely organicly and I was not sure how I would monetize my site at all really.

Through my mentoring with Trent I have gained a lot of focus and better direction on what activities to do on a daily basis to help realize the success of my business. I have never liked having a boss. Let’s be honest, most of us don’t. I wanted to find out a way to be my own boss; set my own hours, make the money I wanted to, go on vacation when I want, make the business decisions myself, etc. I always thought in the back of my mind I could find out a way to make money online selling a product or service. That thought was moved to the front once I was informed of the world of dropshipping. I came up with the perfect product in my mind: kegerators. Finding products at wholesale cost and reselling them at retail to online customers couldn’t be that hard I thought. Boy was I wrong. I quickly found out that there was much more behind the scenes then I could have imagined. I needed a teacher, a coach, a mentor, whatever you want to call it. That’s when Trent Jessee answered my calling. I was somehow fortunate enough to get a free 30-minute training call with Trent. It was through Zoom, and I expected it to be some type of classroom setting. I was pleasantly surprised when the Zoom meeting began, and it was just Trent and myself. Free one-on-one training? This is exactly what I needed. I let Trent know I was just starting to get my feet wet, and I really had no idea what I was doing. He was extremely patient with me, answering all my questions, and getting me pointed in the right direction. I was so excited after that phone call, but I quickly learned I had more questions. Trent continues to be there for me anytime I have a question. He has gone out of his way to make sure that I am headed towards the path of success. One important thing he has taught me is that I need to work on this project everyday. I can’t just set up everything and expect traffic to just magically appear. He taught me that Wordpress is much better to use than Ecwid, Shopify, etc. He helped me move my site from Ecwid over to Wordpress, and even hooked me up with an awesome theme: Flatsome. He taught me how to find suppliers and what to say when I call asking them if I can become a dealer for them. He explained to me what a sales funnel was, and why it was so important in this business. He educated me on network affiliates and how it can help expand my business. Trent has done all of this and more. Although I have yet to make a sale, his mentorship has been priceless in my continuing process of building this business. I am confident that it will be profitable because of the knowledge and mindset Trent has instilled in me. I would say that Trent’s positive attitude, vast knowledge, and outlook in this business are the most valuable assets he has given me. I look forward to continue working with Trent, and I highly recommend him to anyone that needs some coaching in the dropship business.
