Thank you Tax Partners for filing my family’s taxes - US taxes and Canadian Corporations. You guys are amazing and highly recommend your business to others.

I chose Tax Partners to do my 2020 tax return because my previous accountant retired and I recently moved to Newmarket. Here are my good experiences and feedback to improve :
Good:
1. Location is near me & easy free parking
2. Private room for discussion ( although only used it once )
3. Initial face to face meeting with client was beneficial & good but only once.
4. Good interface system for payment & booking of schedule

Areas to improve :
1. Charges should be informed clearly in the beginning , including extra charges for email time and telephone time.
2. Better communication : prompt , clear and respectful reply to emails & calls , to address main issue & questions.
3. Personal touch is important; don't make client feel that is all about $$$. Be more client focused.
4. Listen to client's concern and try to understand what is client request . Client engage accountant service because he/ she does not have the knowledge of taxation .
5 . Don't ask client to call CRA to clarify issues when client paid your service to help to resolve very complicating tax problem. Nobody wants to directly contact CRA if their accountant is able to provide good and honest tax advice.
6. Be TRANSPARENT and honest. If issue at hand is complex, discuss in person with client and ask " if this is my tax problem, what will I do to best resolve it "

We all know that Canada is one of the countries that has the most complex tax system. Accountant plays an important role in helping their clients to navigate the tax system and "to keep more of what they earn".

Despite my unpleasant experiences, I do want to thank Doug ( not my consultant) for taking time to answer all questions in a professional & timely manner.

Above is my honest review of my experiences with only one senior consultant in Tax Partners.

Did not keep to promised quote. Refunds they claimed all had to be paid back with interest and penalty. Poor communication and VERY bad job on my returns. Created a real mess with Revcan that I am still trying to fix over a year later :(
When I later tried to recover some of the money they cost me I was again threatened with legal action.

November/23. Still calling me names and telling condescending lies. Association of Certified Public Accountants of Ontario investigated this case and found against Tax Partners.
