I am not a lawyer and I don't know if a business is allowed to do what NHL pharmacy have just done. But I know that this is not how a reputable company should be conducting business.
1. I ordered a thermometer a few days ago. I thought it might come in handy given the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. The price was okay. Not great, but okay. Definitely not a price glitch, as it was comparable to other retailers. I happily paid for next day delivery, to avoid disappointment.
2. My card was charged pretty quickly, so the transaction had gone through.
3. I was expecting the thermometer to arrive earlier today, but it did not. I logged in to my NHL Pharmacy account and, to my surprise, the order had been cancelled. No phone call, no email, no text. So there, I thought, they didn't account for their stock correctly. Rubbish, but acceptable, given the situation. However...
4. ...the thermometer is still in stock, but the price has now doubled.
So, if I am not misreading this, NHL Pharmacy are simply being opportunistic, and realised that they can make some extra money given the increased demand on thermometers. Which is probably fine, this is how free market works and I support that. BUT my card had been charged, and my order had gone through. It feels like both parties should, in this situation, make sure that the deal completes. I have done my part. They have not. And they have forgotten to apologise too.
So there I am, forced to play my part again. Congrats on the One star review, NHL Pharmacy.

"Dishonest, ripped me off and then lied about it"
This company advertises next-day delivery but does not fulfill its promise, completely ignores emails to customer services, and then tells bare-faced lies.
They charged me £5.49 for next-day delivery, and since I needed the item quickly I was willing to pay this. I ordered after the cut-off, so it should have shipped the following day so I would receive it the day after that. But they didn't bother to ship it until more than 48 hours after I ordered.
The day after my order, it seemed clear that they weren't going to ship it, since I received no notification and they ignored my email inquiry. On the second day, when it didn't arrive with the post, I cancelled the order and went to a pharmacy to buy the product. They ignored the cancellation too, and went ahead and shipped the item later on that day. When I received the shipping notification, I emailed again, and they also ignored that.
A few days later, I emailed again to complain and ask for a refund. This time, they did answer, and at this point their behavior changed from incompetence to outright dishonesty. First of all, they had the nerve to tell me that they only accept cancellations up to 3 days after delivery, even though I had sent them several emails, starting from the day before dispatch, which they'd ignored. Then they demanded that I pay postage to return the product, even though they shouldn't have sent it in the first place.
And then they started lying to my face (metaphorically). They insisted, repeatedly over several emails, that they had shipped the parcel on time but that it had been delayed with Royal Mail. It's a tracked parcel: I can see the tracking info which shows it was dispatched late, and the shipment notification that the company sent me corroborates this. I point this out and they repeat the same lie.
TL;DR - a dishonest company that ignores emails from customers, doesn't provide the service you pay for, and will tell outright lies to avoid giving you a refund. Avoid at all costs.
(NB they're also marketplace sellers on Amazon - there you'd at least have your interests protected by Amazon, but I still won't use them because it's likely to be a hassle).

Avoid this company at all costs! They have atrocious customer services, lie about dispatch details and give misleading information that affects your consumer rights.

The most awful customer service I have ever come across. I ordered 3 items via their shop on Ebay, they charged me for all three but only sent one, and they ignored the various emails I sent and calls I made to chase it up. When I eventually did get a reply it was a terse one line email, no apology and needless to say no replacement products. Never order anything online from this pharmacy, they are not to be trusted.
