Singlife is the worst in terms of making claims. My spouse passed away 3 weeks ago and Singlife refused to pay out the first $150k of his $155k~ policy and instead wants to see a copy of probate and a copy of bank passbook of "estate of xxxspouse"... this will easily take 6-12 months. He bought the policy only 2 years ago and hasn't even broken even.
My husband also has a Prudential policy and they paid out the first $150k immediately. ..with the balance only available after probate. That's efficient service and there was no named nominees in case you are asking.

An agent called (didn't really catch his name) regarding Careshield plan upgrade and asked to meet up to do the upgrade. Declined as I wanted to consider first, but agent kept trying to persuade. Declined again and said I would contact my own insurance agent if I wanted to upgrade after consideration. Agent then ended the call immediately after spewing rude comments.

"IT helpdesk/ customer service still problematic"
I would like to highlight that IT/ Customer service is a major problem for Singlife, even for relatively simple tasks. i sent a request to reset password/ change my phone number (because I am currently abroad and can’t receive the otp sent to SG number) on 15th May. For 2 weeks nothing happened despite several very kind reminders - then I am just sent forms - every 2 days different ones and still no response to my actual problem. This is quite concerning. Basically I can’t access my account.Today is 9th June.
This is not the first time I am left stranded but was hoping service had improved over time.
My recommendation is to implement simple and clear processes that empower your staff and make it easier for the staff to respond to such service requests immediately without having to involve other departments, perhaps creating much workload throughout the organisation that makes you slow to a point of standstill. Thank you.

My wife signed up for a policy in May 2023 thru recommendation of a bank as an investment. One year is almost up but she has yet to receive her original policy. On 16th April 2024, was informed by bank to apply for a copy of the policy thru the bank. Now is end May 2024, still my wife has yet to receive her copy of policy. On 27th May, I had to ring the bank manager to inform Singlife to courier the copy of policy to us. Today 28th May 2024, the bank manager rang to inform that Singlife has yet to send out copy of policy despite applying on 16th April 2024. If this is customer service from Singlife, I suggest that you better consider properly any policy from Singlife for their customer service really is questionable,.......

"Hard to get a quotation. Proceed at own risk"
I’ve given up on this company before even getting an insurance plan. I told myself to Better stay away. If it’s so hard to get someone to call you back for a quotation then just imagine how hard it would be to get a claim processed with Singlife. I’ve called them 2 times “ so called advisors” but they are not even able to provide any information about the plans. They keep telling you that someone will call you. I have left my contact number and details in their website as well but nothing happened so far in last 1 month.

In 2022, I purchased travel insurance from Singlife for my partner's trip to Japan, including the highest tier of coverage. Unfortunately, the airport transfer service I booked for her did not show up, causing her to miss her flight. I reached out to Singlife for advice and was led to believe that such a disruption would be covered under their policy.
However, when I submitted my claim, Singlife failed to respond within the promised 90 days, despite claiming they would seek clarification on my claims. I had to follow up with them twice, only to be told that they were only required to reply within 90 working days, not calendar days. Even then, I had to wait over 100 working days to receive a reply, only to have my claim rejected without further explanation citing policy guidelines.
To make matters worse, Singlife's write-in customer support hotline was constantly down, making it impossible to get in touch with anyone.
Overall, my experience with Singlife was a massive disappointment. Their lack of communication, poor customer service, and failure to adhere to their own agreement is unacceptable. I strongly advise anyone considering travel insurance to look elsewhere.
