"Villa Siepi (aka Villa Salice)"

Renting a villa sight unseen from a foreign country can be a bit trepidatious. However, Home in Italy stayed in constant communication with us and provided us with very detailed instructions upon arrival.

Someone was always available to answer any questions we had. Villa Siepi was stunning and I believe that everyone who joined, had a magical week. We were a party of 8 and the villa was large enough for everyone to have their own bedroom and privacy. The villa even had a separate apartment along with multiple washing machines and dryers. There were 2 kitchens, one upstairs and one downstairs. We usually ate breakfast outside and dinner at the dining table. The great room was comfy and cozy with a fireplace and we spent many evenings around that fireplace.

Home in Italy provided us with Chef Gabriele and he was definitely one of the highlights of our experience. He took such good care of us and our requests for both dinner and breakfast. The care he puts into cooking and wanting everything to be perfect for us was exceptional. I would highly recommend him to anyone renting a villa.

I only have a couple of suggestions. Rent a car in Florence and drive to the villa. We also wanted to visit other towns and it was helpful to have the cars. If we needed to go into Castellina in Chianti and buy wine or stop at the grocery store, having the car was again, very useful.

We visited in the beginning of November and while the weather was cold and absolutely perfect, we did not find that we needed the heat on (an extra expense of $500-600E). Also, there were guests who wanted to use the pool and we had to pay extra to heat it, but it never really got that warm, so it is questionable whether that additional expense of $700E was worth the money.

We had one hiccup and miscommunication with the wine tour guide and I would not recommend him. Rather, you really can set your own tour at different wineries you would like to visit directly with the winery and that worked out really well for us. We had a wonderful time.

Overall, our experience was exactly as we had hoped it would be. I would definitely do it again. If all of the villas are as lovely as Villa Siepi, Home in Italy is the way to go.

The Villa was incredible and the Wedding was a huge success. We couldn't have asked for a better place! Amazing food and wine, beautiful venue and remarkable service.

In addition if this is a luxury Villa we expect bath soaps in showers, no shampoo, no spare toilet rolls, no tissue boxes anywhere.
Oven was dirty black grease we could not use
We asked for cleaner she came after 3 days
Out door patio there are no moveable louvres- cannot sit there after 10.00 no shade— this is very serious
No curtains in living area so we had to use aircon to cool
We had to drive to shops to purchase bath soaps shampoos tissues kitchen paper etc
No internet on arrival
Took 3 days to get someone to fix
Just not the standard of housekeeping I expect in a luxury villa

Perhaps this was unique to my villa, but Home in Italy actually made the experience worse than if I contracted directly with the villa myself. The villa concierge would have been better prepared for us and done a better job if we had been communicating directly, vs through a third party. For a less full-service venue, maybe the service Home in Italy offers is more useful.
