As someone who has enlisted application advising for both undergrad and prior cycle of medical school admissions, my expectations of advising were that I would receive generic comments about my writing, be given edits that were unhelpful, and have to adhere to the writing voice of my advisor. Even though communication through Exceptional Grad is through email only, she took the time out of her busy professional schedule to answer my many questions, and offer examples of how to approach parts of application (without deducting it from my "edits allowance"). As a med school re-applicant, she really helped me turn out my primary app writings by helping me achieve purpose and balance while retaining my personal, stylistic choices.
