"I absolutely love the National Trust…"
I absolutely love the National Trust and have done since I was a child.
My family has been members for years (on & off).
I rejoined just over a year ago and have loved visiting various Gardens and Houses in Cornwall where I live.
My favourite place is Godrevy - beautiful headland, lighthouse, beach and walking trails with lots of parking.
My favourite House is Godolphin with Trelissick a close second - love the orangery.
Trengwainton and Trerice are perfect for gentle strolls and picnics.
I can't wait to uncover more places with my membership.
Love getting my NT passport stamped at each spot - does Godrevy have one (maybe in the manned car park) ?
Would love if you made a 3 adult joint membership.

"Hinton Ampner and my sexuality"
Visited Hinton Ampner, nice enough, but a few days later they sent me an email asking about my sexuality - Why? What on earth has my sexual preference got to do with anything the National Trust does?

"Gladstone’s Land a little Gem"
Recently visited Gladstone’s Land in Edinburgh. It’s a history of the use of this beautifully preserved house. It is 3 levels reached by stone stairs so not for visitors with walking problems. If you are able climb to the top & work your way down. The volunteers David & Susan were really informative & explained the life of the house to bring it to life. We thoroughly enjoyed it

"National Trust Fleece Inn - what a let down"
We had the misfortune of visiting The Fleece Inn, which I had seen was a part of the National Trust and so was very excited.
The whole visit was a shambles. There was nowhere at all to park when we got there and after stopping the car to ask someone they started a torrent of abuse about the pub and how they couldn’t care less about the village and how all the locals were fed up with all the cars around and the noise. Ok, maybe a disgruntled local so we carried on and eventually parked some distance away from the pub itself.
We really wanted a nice cream tea, just like we’ve had at most other NT establishments but were told we couldn’t have it that day but they did have a very nice pie and pint! I mean, really?! Bit of a difference.
We just had drinks.
As we were leaving we witnessed an oldish guy (around 70?) with a big beard who I can only assume was in charge by the things he was saying, being really quite nasty to a server who was left visibly upset.
This was enough for us and really not what we expected from The National Trust. The property itself was very quaint and old but our experience was not a good advert for your brand.

"Arlington Court Devon lacks information about exhibits"
Overall the trust is doing a great job at preserving houses and the employees and volunteers at Arlington House in Devon are great. However, from our visit today our main gripe is that the house has many numbered exhibits but no numbered guide to tell you what these pieces are! We were told a new guide had been requested many times.
This really limits what you can learn about the artefacts in the house, which is half the enjoyment. The main "white bedroom" and other areas in the coach house collection were closed due to a lack of volunteers, so we felt a bit cheated here as well. Come on National Trust how hard is it to print out the old guide, which used to be available we're told. Wouldn't recommend without at least a guide for the house exhibits as its a bit boring without this.

"Is National Trust membership really worth it?"
Before renewing with the National Trust (and we have been members continuously for at least 20 years), I asked myself the question "Where can I get a list of all the NT places we have visited over the years?"
NT obviously have the information, because they scan our cards every time we visit. And they liked the idea of it, because you used to be able to buy a child's "Passport" in which you could record visits.
So where on the website is the button you press to get a download from their database of all the places you've been to? Or perhaps there is a reason why they have taken the decision not to make that information available?
The reason is, surely, that when they looked into it, they realised that most people are paying through the nose for a membership they use rather less than they think. You wouldn't want to draw that to anyone's attention, would you? Like a gym membership you never actually use.
So it may be time to take your membership off Direct Debit, and pay for it each year, if you need it. Or don't pay.
The mishandling of the NT by its bosses because they have gone WOKE is upsetting, and it is becoming harder and harder to retain confidence in the organisation. The actual properties are delightful, and the staff and volunteers do a wonderful job. But, while WOKEness continues, I shall feel sorry for the staff and volunteers who perhaps are sacrificing their time to support a sinking vessel.

"We visited Beninborough Hall last…"
We visited Beninborough Hall last weekend after being closed for 2 years and what a dissapointment, limited access to rooms that are almost empty, went round it all in about 35 minutes at £15 a time very poor value.
Avoid!!

"Great customer service"
Renewal membership went awol in the post. Called up. Issue sorted. No cross selling. No asking me to do a survey. Just sorted the problem, no nonsense. Bravo!

"Locations and Staff great, online account very basic"
The locations, information, food and staff have always been good. The Website information about locations also good but the new online account management is useless. Other than letting you change you name and address it does very little. There is no way to update or change membership type or add / modify children's details. They say they have listened to feedback, so I hope they are reading this.
