"Dumb Requirements"

I saw on a website that this company was looking for somebody for a $50 survey. We were giving specific information to email to them and I did that. I then get an email back from somebody saying that I need to now put that information in a text message and text it to a specific number because they want to put me in another survey that's 2 hours long and that is $150.

Needless to say, this is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of in my life so I asked for an explanation and the only explanation I was given was that they're trying to get me in another survey so that's what I needed to do. So to apply for certain surveys, they need emails, but to apply for other surveys, they need text messages? Why did it have to be in the form of a text message? She could have literally highlighted the information in the email and texted it to her cell for all of that. When people ask me to do stupid stuff that doesn't make sense, I'm not going to engage in it. I gave her plenty of chances to explain her rationale behind that and I didn't get an answer.

The only thing I can think of is that this is a scam because if it wasn't, she would have just simply answered my question on why I'm required to send random text messages of information they already have in the same email we were talking in.

Apply to this company if you want to. I wouldn't if I were you.
