"$500 short"

Hollinger Diamonds handled the sale of a 1950’s platinum and diamond engagement set for me. I was pleased with the way Alex handled the commission and when I made a mistake with the shipping he was on top of it and remedied the situation. We agreed on a price which was higher than I was expecting on October 12th. By November 4th I still had not received payment because it was sent to the wrong address. The check that finally arrived on November 16th bounced. When I became angry and wrote a negative review on trustpilot, rather than roll his eyes, curse me under his breath, apologize and remedy the situation, Alex proceeded to berate the piece of jewelry that he agreed to sell for me, threaten me with a defamation lawsuit and non payment until the review was changed to positive, and lecture me about being a ‘grownup’ and not acting on ‘feelings and ‘emotions’. Alex wrote ‘you right the course or you get nothing’. So I changed the review. After another week I received a cashiers check in the mail on November 30th that was $500 short of our agreed price, $500 less than the check that bounced. Honestly if Alex had simply paid me I would have left a positive review despite his wildly unprofessional behavior because I understand that humans are emotional, every experience affects us emotionally and is an opportunity to learn about ourselves and others. Also in this case how to conduct business with a client who gets emotional. Ultimately I just can’t let the illegal, unethical, vindictive, and pompous $500 punishment slide. So unfortunately I cannot recommend Hollinger Diamonds.
