"Great for short or long stays"

I stayed at the guesthouse for 3 nights very last minute as I was having a personal crisis, and I can't tell you how pleased I am that it was the guesthouse I chose to stay at.

Eleanor (and the other lady on the front desk) let me see the room early because I was anxious about where I would be staying. Then when I came back later she sorted the key for me quickly and took an order for a breakfast sandwich from me as I had to leave before breakfast started which was so kind. I had also originally booked for 6 nights but decided to leave early to go stay with family, and Eleanor refunded the other nights to me without me even asking, it was so unexpected and such a kind thing to do.

I stayed in room 3 which is an ensuite single room on the ground floor. They chose the room for me as it is quieter and they were right. I could hear people occasionally moving about but that was all.
The room had a wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table, chair, fridge and microwave, and a little ensuite which is a kind of funny little pod.
It was all immaculately clean and they came in everyday and made my bed and replenished the tea station and leaving a little biscuit.

The value for money is really outstanding. Ive stayed in travelodges before last minute that are a similar price (if you're lucky) but having a microwave and fridge meant I could not depend on takeaway and the yummy sandwich I got off the sweet lady who does the cooking every morning was really great.

If I had been feeling better I would have been really pleased to have stayed here for the whole week, or longer.

Very good place to stay was comfortable and clean the staff was very friendly and kind and Eleanor went above and beyond to ensure are stay was as good as possible

Rooms small and dated walls and celling cracked no room to move smells of wee breakfast was diabolical bathroom. No room to have a compfy poo or shower or even wash hands

If you need to spend a night or more; I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Alexandra Guest House. All the staff are OUTSTANDING from the front desk (Eleanor or Pat) to the cleaning staff. If you have a maintenance issue, they try to fix it the same day. The rooms are super clean and the cleaning staff keeps it that way. If you are from America, the rooms are smaller than you are used to (it's a Bed & Breakfast), BUT if you are visiting, you probably not going to spend much time in the room. I mentioned breakfast, there is plenty to eat here. The kitchen staff (who we were VERY PLEASED with) will cook your eggs etc. exactly as you requested, good & fresh!

If you are a Harry Potter fan, a quick train trip to Watford Junction train station will take you where you can pick up the bus (coach) that delivers you to "The Making of Harry Potter" studio, which makes the Alexandra Guest House an ideal place to stay.

If you are staying in Hemel Hempstead; you can't go wrong staying here! My wife, son & I enjoyed it!

I recently stayed at the guest house with my young son. The staff were very friendly and attentive to any needs. Room was clean, comfortable and practical for my short stay. Brilliant breakfast.
