"Sharing my exemplary experience working…"
Sharing my exemplary experience working with Thomas Calara and Analog:Shift on a dream watch this past month. I had been on the hunt for a Patek 570G for over a year after having the opportunity to handle several beautiful examples exploring vintage watches in Tokyo.
While on an insomnia driven late night search, finally catching up on the weeks A:S Tuesday drop, I came across what looked like an ideal example for me. A 570G with an absolutely gorgeous eggshell light dove grey opaline dial that was in immaculate condition. I added it to my cart with the intention of reaching out to Analog:Shift in the morning to ask for some additional images, information, and history of the watch.
On waking up, I was absolutely thrilled to have received an email from Thomas Calara inviting me to reach out for additional information and discussion regarding this specific piece.
I had been a long-time admirer and fan of Thomas’s writing, photography, and content across multiple media outlets and platforms over the last several years, including during the formative years of my watch enthusiasm and growing love for adventure travel. His story-telling and imagery were truly inspirational. His work was one of several creatives which sparked and emboldened my passion for watches, travel, adventure, the stories they carry, and the relationships they can build.
I was thrilled to be able to discuss this special watch with someone as knowledgeable and passionate about watches in the exact ways that spoke so directly to me.
Working with Thomas on this watch was the best purchase experience of my journey in watch enthusiasm thus far. Not only did he provide additional detailed images, provenance, technical details, and an honest description of the condition, but we connected over shared interests and experiences both within the watch community and beyond.
While the 570 is everything I dreamed of in terms of the pure essence of vintage Patek that I can wear every day, the connection and trustworthiness with Thomas, is what made the experience so enjoyable and meaningful.
Thomas and Analog:Shift made the purchase part of the experience as low-stress as possible. They worked with me during an extremely busy period of my professional life to make the process completely stress-free with zero pressure, completely accommodating my schedule and shipping preferences. The watch was delivered seamlessly and securely the next day and was even more stunning in person.
This watch will be a permanent addition to my life and the opportunity pick it up from someone so inspirational during my early years in watches made it infinitely more meaningful.
Thank you Thomas and Analog:Shift.
