I recently received a Ukulele Banjo from a friend of mine who is in his nineties and registered blind.
He had a problem with one of his tuning pegs and due to his poor sight, he lost a couple of parts for re-assembly.
I sent the tuner to Alan Yates Music, who took the trouble of finding a suitable replacement nut, who then promptly sent the tuner back to me so I could reinstate it on this chaps instrument. My thanks to Alyson and Alan Yates for taking the trouble to help this elderly man out, which in essence, saved him a lot of money as a complete set of new tuners would have been necessary.

When my recent ebay purchase, (a Gibson banjo uke) arrived I wasn’t surprised to find it needed a few adjustments to suit my personal preference and style of playing. To do this I ordered a part from Alan Yates music ebay shop, the part arrived quickly and it included a business card and website link. I was delighted to discover online that Alan had experience as a musician specifically banjo uke and was also a skilled instrument repair / restorer. I requested a quote and got a quick response with an estimate of cost and time for turnaround that was agreeable to me. It made sense to hand over my vintage instrument to someone with experience and knowledge than to bungle about with it myself. I had a discussion with Alan who took the time to listen to me and who gave advice and shared his extensive knowledge on the matter. We agreed a schedule of work to be done and I felt reassured knowing my uke was in very capable hands. The turnaround was within the timeframe we agreed and the costs were within the initial estimate. I was given a discount for my ebay purchase that was deducted from my bill automatically. At every step Alan and Alyson were available to answer any questions I might have. I’m just the average joe, uke player , nothing special , but I feel that I got 5 star treatment from Alan Yates music. I had checked out the reviews for AY Music and the positive feedback I read clinched the deal for me to hand over my uke and put my trust in them to do the work.
