His Workmanship
Sandy Hall Newport
"Exceptional!"
I had multiple plants (mainly decorative grasses) I wanted dug up as well as about five large saplings, up to 12 feet tall. I did not expect everything to get done as it was a huge project and the ground was relatively hard. I was amazed at how hard the two young men worked without ceasing during their three hours at my home. They not only accomplished what I hoped might be done but way more. They cleaned up parts of the yard I didn't even ask them to do. They were very personable and professional, always asking if they missed anything or if there was something else they could do. I will hire His Workmanship again whenever I need fall clean-up (as I did two years ago) or tougher jobs like this year.

"Booking was easy"
Booking was easy, the guys showed up on time and Trent and Caleb worked hard for 3 hours. Overall, great way to contract out some yard work!

"Sketchy and unChristian"
Contracted for an explicitly stated amount of hours. Worker then took breaks that counted as part of the worked hours. Eric refused to discuss the issue. Also refused to honor the promised and earned discount. He then raised the rates for any future work and insulted my wife, who had contracted for the help.
The worker was great. The management is sketchy and scammy. All transactions had to be in cash. Strongly not recommended.

"I hired 2 workers to remove rock"
I hired 2 workers to remove rock. I paid a hauling fee of $600 up front and when the job was done (which it wasn't) I was to pay the final $600. The two high school kids came an hour late with one wheel barrow that had no wheel! They had to carry the barrow full of rock from the back yard to the front yard so this drastically impacted the time to complete the job. I emailed Eric to let him know the situation and to ask him to send two working wheelbarrows so these kids could do their job. No response at all. They also took a half hour lunch so the total work time ended up being 1 1/2 hours. When the 4 hours were up they came to my door and would not leave until I paid them. I contacted Eric to let him know that this was not acceptable. He has never followed up with me and now I'm out $1200 and 1/3 of the job was done. I reached out many times by his email address as this is the only way you can contact this company but he will not respond. This is not what I would expect from a 'Christian' organization.
Also the only way you can pay them is thru Venmo.

"The whole experience was top notch"
The whole experience was top notch. Very professional in communication, the workers were super polite and hard-working, prompt, payment was easy. All around great experience.

"Great service!"
Showed up on time, worked hard for the entire 4 hours, and the whole process is well organized so expectations easily met.
These guys weren’t from Bethel College and if they were digging dirt and hauling logs for Jesus they kept it to themselves which was fine by me.

"NOT Christian"
This is an email I sent to Eric to which he did not reply. It speaks for itself. Beware!!!!!
Hi Eric-
Update: it has been another week and I have discovered more areas that upset me. Here is the original email which I composed a week ago and didn’t send.
I have waited a week to send this email, because I thought I might feel less upset about what happened last Wednesday when the crew came to my house. I would say they did an OK job doing what I asked, but there were a couple of things that were not done satisfactorily.
I specifically ask them if they were going pull the weeds before throwing mulch in the beds. They assured me that they would. Imagine my surprise when clover is popping out from the mulch the day after they were here. They were significant weeds on the side of the house and I am afraid to look under the mulch because if they didn’t pull the weeds, it will cause me unnecessary stress.
They also did not do a very good job of cleaning up mulch and dirt that they got in the grass.
The job was clearly not going to take 8 hours so there was plenty of time to do everything the “correct” way. The crew really seemed like they wanted to be done and leave and when I asked them to do something else, they reluctantly did it.
I am especially disenchanted by the fact that you represent your company as a Christian organization. I specifically hired you because I thought your workers would be held to the highest standards of honesty and integrity. Clearly that was not the case.
The person who cuts my grass asked for a reference for people to do some work that he doesn’t have time to do. Unfortunately I was not able to recommend you company.
I will have to be on the lookout for weeds and grass in my beds for the rest of the summer and will have to treat them or pull them.

"I hired this company for a spring…"
I hired this company for a spring cleanup. I trusted them. Unfortunately, My husband paid them before they finished the job because they were not finished before he left for work. When I came home I was not happy with the quality of the job. I arrived home from work at 3:30 pm to find debris still left and not cleaned up. In addition the leaves were not removed and cleaned from the bushes & flowerbed. I emailed Eric, the owner, pictures & videos of the mess and asked that he come back to clean up or refund us a partial payment Eric never responded. He just took our money and never got back to us. I will never use this company again.

"Perfect!"
Steve and Jacob were on time. Steve explained how it would be best to trim my crab apple tree. He really knows the names of shrubs. They did an excellent job trimming very tall hedges with thorns. I highly recommend them.

"Love the His Workmanship crew"
Love the His Workmanship crew. My task was easy to schedule, and the crew arrived exactly on time! The work was done in a knowledgeable, professional way--and I will definitely be hiring the team again when I have an addition need. I'd give 10 stars if I could!
