"Communication problems"

We were shocked to receive a phone call from CS one hour before the fitters were due to arrive asking us if we had removed the old worktops. No - we hadn't been told we needed to (we had thought it was part of their service). They then said they would remove them for us for an extra £300! They also expected us to have a plumber ready to disconnect and reconnect the water and gas for us after fitting. Again, we were unaware that we were expected to arrange this. These extra costs should have been factored into the original quote as if we had known how much it would all be we may well have gone elsewhere. In the event, the emergency plumbing service we had to use cost us in excess of £400. Our initial response had been to cancel the whole order but In the event, Cardiff Stone removed the old worktops for free and reduced the overall price by £300 as a 'gesture of goodwill'. It was difficult also to communicate with the fitters about not disconnecting the gas hob before the emergency plumber arrived due to language problems. (They subsequently did disconnect it after we had turned off the gas supply ourselves). Although the worktops look good, the fitting around the pipes in one place left quite a gap, which we had to find some way of filling ourselves.

AVOID THESE ACTUAL THIEVES!!!!!! I know we all see those negative reviews out there and think, "Oh but this won't happen to me, that reviewer is just extremely high maintenance", this is not the case - Malek and the "owner" Bassel have literally STOLEN £1,380 from me, and I am in the process of suing them to get it back. AVOID LIKE THE SCUM THEY ARE!
