Ok so this was my first purchase ever using Tavex Bullion. Formally I used The Royal Mint but they didn’t have in stock what I wanted. Anyway, late one evening I ordered 5 silver 1 ounce bullion coins (2023 King Charles coronation coins to be precise) and sent the payment to Tavex. (Side note for new buyers; once you add the items to your basket on Tavex website and submit your order, they send you a invoice afterwards separately to pay as you don’t technically pay via the website as with most online purchases) however that was secure and easy to do. So, once payment was sent my side I promptly received an order confirmation email and payment receipt from Tavex within a few minutes of payment been sent. The next day I received a tracking number and shipping confirmation email. The coins arrived the following day! (So basically just over 24 hours!) the coins were sent with Royal mail special delivery (I live in UK) and arrived in a jiffy bag with some bubble wrap. Upon opening the package I was greeted with a lovely little cardboard box with Tavex logo on and a little boiled sweet which was a nice treat. After opening the box, a little Thankyou card with hand written note attached which is a personal touch. And then to the bullion coins…

They arrived in a foam layer all in plastic capsules. However the plastic capsules are not the same thick heavy duty ones like from Royal Mint, these were somewhat thinner and definitely felt a little cheap, but who cares they were not expected in the packaging so that was a bonus. The coins themselves, well it’s bullion, so not expecting these to be proof condition and pristine, I can confirm there were multiple micro scratches and teeny tiny little imperfections around each coin, but nothing as far as damage or chunks or big lumps missing out of them. (I think a lot of people expect bullion coins (or bars) to be pristine condition and there not! It’s just bullion, but solong as there is no major damage I can live with the micro scratches and imperfections (I don’t even keep my bullion in the plastic capsules anyway I litterally stack them like true bullion!) Final thoughts? Overall I’m highly thrilled with the service from Tavex and it makes a welcome change to the smug, care free, poor customer service from Royal Mint that I myself have received in the past. I will most certainly recommend Tavex Bullion to anyone and solong as you don’t expect BULLION to be “PROOF” coins or bars and pristine, you won’t be disappointed! 1oz silver bullion coins are still 1oz silver bullion coins be them in capsules and untouched or loose and stacked with micro scratches and tiny imperfections from stacking. Don’t be too OCD and just enjoy your precious metals! Big thanks from me to Tavex and I will most certainly be returning to order more from you soon!
