"Fantastic Maths tutor"

I can’t recommend McConnell’s Maths enough!
My daughter was not confident in the subject and was getting grades 2 and 3 in year 10 for Maths so we found Seymour following a recommendation. His attention to our daughters needs were amazing, he was kind, patient and always made her smile and laugh. The 1:1 lessons were good for her, time in lessons flew by and slowly but surely her confidence was growing and she was doing better in school as a result. We continued extra sessions right up until the exams, Seymour was very flexible about days and timings fitting us in where he could and we were all confident that she should be good for a pass at a grade 4.
We are over the moon receiving her results that she got a grade 5! She couldn’t have done it without Seymour’s expertise knowing how to pitch it to her and working hard at filling her gaps in knowledge! We can’t thank you enough Seymour! You’re cooking on gas!!!!!

As a current GCSE student myself, I had explored numerous educational resources before getting in touch with McConnell’s maths and when I did it turned out to be the best thing I had ever done. It had transformed my learning journey. I currently work with Charlotte, Isiah, Andrea and Seymour himself and I am more than happy to say that Seymour and his team are always happy to help and go above and beyond to ensure that I have a full understanding of the harder concepts of my course. Before I had found out about McConnell’s maths, my grades were very questionable but the ample improvement I have had over the two years with Seymour cannot be overstated. I was on grades like 4’s and 5’s and improved to grades like 8’s and 9’s. It felt impossible to achieve and it would have been if it weren’t for Isaiah and Seymour. It is very tough to fine elite tutors who specialise in their craft however McConnells maths has been able to provide the best support for my success during my GCSE exams. At the start of year 11 I got a grade 3 in my first mock and achieved a grade 6 at the end of the year. Just a few Mark's off the next grade.

I have found McConnell's Maths, to be excellent support for my dau Alisha. She thoroughly enjoys her 1-2-1 session with Seymour. He is supportive and challenging, always reminding her to practice and believe in herself. Any maths homework that she is not confident in she feels comfortable discussing the topic with him. My son suffered a brain injury early 2021 and spent a considerable amount of time out of school recovering. I enlisted Mr McConnell on a one to one basis from the summer to help my son with his maths and literacy as understandably he had fallen behind.
Mr McConnell's superb ability to communicate, engage and explain things to my son is having a meaningful and positive impact on my son's outputs at his secondary school with literacy and maths being the main subjects that he is showing great progress in.

The communication is excellent and I am always informed in advance of upcoming lesson plans and what will be required days in advance.

Seymour has in-depth subject knowledge, wealth of experience and uses a plethora of teaching strategies. He scaffolds his lessons, models the work, gives clear step by step instruction and simplifies maths problems so that students are able to understand and solve questions confidently and independently.

He not only teaches his class but each student individually to check their understanding. He knows his students strengths and weaknesses and is able to adapt his teaching to suit each students level of understanding. He also challenges them to push them to the next level.

My daughter looks forward to her Maths lessons every Saturday morning and enjoys every one because the lessons are: “engaging, well paced, challenging and difficult questions are broken down and made easy!”
