"Amazing moving experience"

Dear Angel

First of all a big thank you to everybody at Britannia for the awesome experience we had with something so unpleasant and horrible as moving house. From the initial contact, the gentleman who came to see me and provided me a very professional quote and explained the process, then meeting the gentleman who did the packing and later the rest of the team was just great. During the whole process from loading the first box and off loading it a day later was without any stress and comforting to see a team operating like they did.

They didn’t go the extra mile… they went an extra 1000 miles. We were really stressing about this move but it was so pleasant we will do it again ☹ or not 😊. Thank you too for communicating with me during the process.

Regards

Paul Dunn

"Highly Recommended"

Moved from Kent to Paris. I was very impressed with the entire service, from the initial quotation through to final delivery.

The removers arrived on time, & were professional & courteous throughout. All items were packed with care.

Unloading was potentially problematic, as traffic / parking was horrendous in my new home street. However, the removal foreman remained calm & completed my removal with no fuss.

I am very pleased to recommend this company.

"Following a needed repair in my home"

Following a needed repair in my home, Britannia Movers Int (BMI) was chosen to remove all the furniture, kept them in storage for a while and bring them back.
The Surveyor estimated correctly the volume to be moved so no surprises when the movers arrived.
For both operations (out and in) I found the people professional, courteous and able to provide solutions for any issues seen on the spot.
They were very careful about not damaging/touching/scratching the doors, walls ...
Besides this, from an admin point of view, the person who was in charge of my account (P.L.) was constantly in contact with me to confirm dates and times, need for entry clearance,..., in order to make all this as smooth as possible. And it was.
Based on this experience, I would certainly recommend BMI to anyone.

"Cowboys, Liars and Thieves: An Ode to Britannia Movers"

I had a partial move from Glasgow to Rome. The movers from the Glasgow office came on the 24th of April and did a good job of packing and wrapping my belongings, which were then packed into a wooden pallet, which I was told would not be opened again until it reached Rome. A complete lie.

After two months in storage my belongings were sent to Kent at the end of June. I heard a lot about the mysterious 'Kent office' in the following couple of months, usually every time something went wrong. Adjectives I could use to describe Britannia Movers?

*DISHONEST: My belongings were unpacked and repacked. I don't know if this happened in Glasgow or Kent. When they finally arrived, I had boxes with a random mix of belongings; some clothes wrapped around my microwave, some collectable soft toys cushioning my plates etc. Weird.
*INCOMPETENT: I was given a delivery window at the end of July. According to Glasgow, the Kent office 'forgot' to put my stuff on the July truck. I was told that I'd have to wait for the August truck. A month later.
*RUDE: There was no apology for this delivery error, quite the opposite in fact. I was told by the Glasgow office that they 'couldn't see the problem, to be honest'. After I made a fuss I was grudgingly refunded £200, a fraction of what I spent in rearranging flights and travel as a result of Britannia's mistake.
*LAZY: My belongings finally arrived 2 months after they left Glasgow. I flew back early from a holiday to be in Rome for the new delivery date. At 6pm that day, the delivery driver called to say that he couldn't get into my street because the truck was too big, so he was taking my stuff to a warehouse on the outskirts of Rome. By now I was at breaking point. Thankfully he came after I begged, cajoled, and bribed him. Unsurprisingly, the truck was not actually too big for the street.
*EXTREMELY CARELESS: Lots of little bits of annoying damage; dent on my retro microwave, chipped plate, damaged picture frames, dirty marks on a lampshade and the mattress. I stupidly didn't take out their insurance so as far as Britannia were concerned, it wasn't their problem. I had foolishly hoped that a removal company would see it as their responsibility to move your belongings without damaging them. I was wrong.
*MORALLY BANKRUPT: In my partial move, one item was sadly 'lost'. The item? A Playstation 4. Everything else arrived, including the games for the console (which I had put in a different bag). It just so happened the one missing item was a £300 games console. What were the chances? Quite high, it seems. Make of that what you will.

Are Britannia the cheapest option? Probably. But with a £200 refund, I still paid £1300 for this farce. If you do decide to move with them, don't include anything remotely valuable in your packing (it could get 'lost'), take every form of insurance that you can possibly find, be VERY flexible regarding delivery times, don't use their 'wrapping' service (where they throw stuff in a box and hope for the best).

Or do yourself a favour, pay a bit extra, and use a different company. I wish I had.

"They stole personal belonging"

They stole personal belonging (South African, johannesburg branch). They say you be there while they pack up your stuff which we did, but then they steal a whole box and replace it with an empty box. They refuse to take any responsibility for it. They also try bill random costs and when you ask for proof they send you a letter with blacked out information. When pushed for the information they just ignore your question. They also do price fixing in the market (South Africa) alround shady, unethical company.

"ok until we had a problem…"

Just really ok until we had a problem with the weather on our delivery. The company are terrible and I really can’t recommend using someone else more

"Unhappy customer"

I used the Glasgow branch of Britannia for a move to Twickenham and during the move they broke my IKEA wardrobe, rendering it unusable and though the company claims to have insurance, it's essentially useless because for damages such as mine, they will not pay.

I had to contact their London office twice on an 0845 number for them to remove the boxes as per the agreement and each time, I was transferred to various extensions and each person I spoke with required me to provide detailed information including my contact details and information about the move, which ordinarily they should have had on their system. They promised callbacks which never came and It wasn't until I called and threatened to list the boxes on Gumtree that I finally received a callback for a collection.

Overall a very poor experience which I won't like to repeat. Definitely won't recommend this company, use at your own risk.

"Are you kidding me? I'm waiting to be called back from 2 weeks!! because you didn't accomplish to the contract!"

I called you at phone 3 times last weeks, first to the main number from the website then I used my postcode to find my local branch, the one in Hexham, and I called them.
In each occasion, you have answer like: "we'll contact you later".
OK ARE PASSED 2 WEEKS!!!
I had a contract with an abroad company in Italy, the Phoenix Relocation Group, where was written that you had to unpack each boxes and bring away the empty boxes and the debris.
First your guys didn't open all boxes, but for me was ok, because they said to me they had to go soon and they will be back to take away from my home the empty boxes.
So, THERE ARE 2 WEEKS AND I'M STILL WAITING EVEN FOR A SIMPLY PHONE CALL!!!!
I've tons of boxes flat and stacked waiting to bring away and they are taking a lot of space in the rear also taking space from my neighbor!
You must bring away the debris and empty boxes because of contract, because you don't have unpacking everything therefore you have not bring away everything!
You don't accomplish to the contract and moreover you don't call me back to speak about that!
I also call the Italian company and you lied to them because said to them you have contacted me!
You're going to risking a lot, because I can ask the refund to the abroad company cause you didn't finish what was included in the contract!
