"Unprofessional & aggressive sales company "
This a high pressure sales company who use dishonest tactics to try and force appointments to promote their product.
Cold calling and then after saying no you get a second phone call trying to mislead and push you again that this is essential and a legal compliance initiative from Scottish Government and when challenged become quite abrupt and subsequently hang up the call when they realise you will not fall their aggressive sales - very unprofessional and i would say comes across almost like a scam company - best avoid if you do not want stressful sale pitch!

"This is a cold calling scam artist…"
This is a cold calling scam artist company. I would not trust them at all.
I just received a call from someone at Insulation Scotland to say that we need to have a check up on our insulation. I refused but the caller persisted stating that it is not to sell anything but I stated once again that I was not interested.
He then ignored me, talked over me and said that it is important and would call again.
A quick check on their website lists a telephone number which had no company identifying IVR and cuts off.
Checking Home Energy Scotland website which is prominently advertised it states that they do not cold call anyone and to be vigilant of scammers.

"Pass"
I would give our experience no stars except that the workers themselves showed up on time, worked hard, and did their job professionally. Just about every other aspect of our experience was a source of stress and frustration.
The initial salesman that came was nice enough but we discovered after the installation didn’t really seem to know what he was talking about. I was 8 months pregnant at the time and he assured us that the installation could be done in a week, possibly even less. He told us that we could have the previous insulation on the floor of the loft removed- before being sprayed with the foam- for an additional fee. He said that the entire loft space could be insulated, including the gable ends, for the price he gave me.
Cue 8 days later and we still had no news. I call the company to find out what is going on and a day later I get a call back saying that someone would be back to me soon with a date. Another week goes by. Call again and no one answers. No one called me back after leaving a message. Call again a day later. Told that there are issues with the trucks but someone will give me a date soon. Another week goes by. I’m nearly 9 months pregnant and we wanted to get this done before the baby comes so I’m getting more annoyed. After chasing them again I tell them that I’m going to want my deposit back if they can’t give me a date. The work was supposed to be done weeks ago and they can’t even give me an appointment. They finally give me a date for the following week. The day before that date I’m called and told they won’t make it. We set another date.
The guys come and they are not actually from Green Castle which was a surprise given that no one told us that the installers were coming from elsewhere. Apparently the estimate of the surface area given was way off. They were not aware that the old insulation was supposed to be removed and had no equipment to remove it. They had to go buy bags to fill and left it in our back yard until a colleague could come a couple of days later to pick it up. In order to install the insulation they had to go through our front door. The machine emitted huge amounts of exhaust fumes. Within a few hours my neighbour was complaining of the smell and had to leave his house. About an hour later my carbon monoxide alarms were all going off. At this point I was 9 months pregnant so being around so much carbon monoxide was dangerous but I also didn’t feel comfortable leaving my house while the work was on going. It was just a terrible, stressful situation.
At the end I noticed the floor wasn’t done which had been discussed with the original sales guy. I mention it and the workers tell me that the floors can’t be done with this kind of insulation. Great to know- why had no one told us when we discussed it on two previous occasions with the sales people? The gable ends were also not done, which had been on the contract, but we discussed it with an architect friend who said the gable ends shouldn’t be done in any case. So the sales people really don’t seem to know what they are talking about.
It has been 8 months since they’ve come and we have yet to receive any kind of warranty or guarantee for the work done in spite of calling and texting for months. They kept saying they’d get back to me but now they don’t answer my texts any more.
I would recommend finding someone else.

"Loft insulation"
We had our loft insulated in preparation for moving into our first family home. After a few delays the work was carried out. We had a few issues but after emailing and speaking to Owen these were rectified quickly and we are really happy with the work and looking forward to moving into our home.

"Left me feeling scammed"
I had underfloor insulation installed by Green Castle Home Improvements, as we wanted to increase the EPC rating of our property in preparation for selling it. All went smooth until we paid. Since then, Greencastle pretty much ignores us. Over the last 6 month I called them a dozen times to get the certificate and guarantee. I got a couple of call-backs promised and some assurance that the paperwork would be essentially already on its way to me. Needless to say, none of this ever happened.
At the end I was told that they used sub-contractors and might not be able to provide certificate and guarantee at all (The guys who installed the insulation showed up in a Green Castle van wearing Green Castle shirts, my payments went to Green Castle and I have a contract with Green Caste).
All that is left now is to either accept that I wasted £1.600 as without the certificate this investment increase the value of my house by nill, or to bring the whole thing to my lawyer. Either way, I feel scammed.

"The company sent a representative to…"
The company sent a representative to carry out a survey in my loft area at a time which suited me. She arrived at the specified time, wore a mask and kept to government guidelines on social distancing. She explained her role in the process very succinctly then started her survey. When she was finished she explained her findings , showing me photographs and talking through the implications of each issue. She was very passionate about the quality and worth of the product and a date was agreed for installation. I found her to be helpful and efficient. The men who carried out the work were also respectful of Covid guidelines and I was more than happy with the end product. They cleaned up any stray pieces of debris when they had finished - for which I was truly grateful.

"Some issues, but made good"
Noticed that there was a gap in the newly installed underfloor installation. Called them to find out why this was. No answer, just an machine saying that they were closed and that I should email instead. I duly did so and received a message saying that I would be called that night or the next day. No one called. Phoned again: same message as before. Emailed again. Got same reply as the last time. Again no call back. Emailed again. No response at all this time.
UPDATE: Since the above happened they have got back in touch, apologised for the breakdown in commucation and have now rectified the situation.

"Cold Call Hard Sell To Elderly People"
Cold called my elderly parents to talk them into letting their ‘surveyor’ visit. ‘Surveyor’ duly visited and sat for an hour giving a hard sell for a product for their loft for over £4,000. A product by the way which is pretty inappropriate for their roof. This didn’t come up in ‘the survey’. Eventually took no for an answer and left. They phoned my mother today to give her the good news that they can do it for just over £2000 if she signs up today.
So, not only were they prepared to charge £4,000 for a product not appropriate my parents didn’t want in the first place, £4000 would have been grossly overcharging if they could have done it for just over £2000 anyway.
Unethical, disgusting hard sell tactics and a deplorable way to treat the elderly.
Have left my name and contact number in the additional information area which should be visible to the company (but not public). Happy to discuss this further.

"Very favourable experience with David…"
Very favourable experience with David Bennie to discuss foam insulation. Totally new concept for me described clearly and patiently.
David fully equipped began to survey my loft, he took a video of the rafters ,brick gables and remaining old insulation showing the moisture measurements. He gave me a comprehensive account of his findings and explained everything fully. I believe I received an honest account
Uncertainties arose the following day, David volunteered to return and gave me the reassurance
I needed.
