"This company bought Emery Oil who we…"

This company bought Emery Oil who we were with for about 15 years. The customer service went down the toilet and they charged us 183.00 for a service call that did not fix our no heat problem. When I called back to say we still had no heat, they charged us for a second service call. Who does this? The first person only turned the heat up and didn't even stay long enough to see if the heat actually came on! Don't use this company. Keep looking

"Done with Shipley"

This company took over Haly Home Comfort. I used Haly to install and maintain my gas furnace. My experience with this company has not been good. Overpriced and poor service. My most recent service appointment is a good example. Despite having a 4-hour service window, the technician arrives 40 minutes late. When the appointment was set up, I requested a call 15 minutes before arrival in advance so I could crate my dog. Never got it. Even if I never requested a call, it would be common courtesy to call when you are running so late.

In addition to the “visit” fee, I was charged for cleaning my burners. This unit underwent the annual maintenance a few months ago by Shipley, so I really question what was done during the annual maintenance.

I also think some of their business practices are a little suspect. My annual service contract was renewed without any advance warning. This is not illegal in PA but is very anti-consumer friendly.

What is unscrupulous is that I could not set my contract to not auto-renew via their online portal. Every attempt generated an “An unknown error occurred while attempting to delete this profile.” I had to call and cancel.

"Incompetent"

I inherited these guys when they took over a great company, Haly Oil. My new HVAC system had a manufacturer's recall so I called Shipley for service. The tech arrived without the part, noticed some water in the furnace drain pan, and "blew out" the drain. In actuality what he did was create a clogged drain rendering the moisture sensor useless due to significant water backup due to the blow out. This ordeal began in January with no resolution. However, they billed me $211 for the "service" which I have refused to pay. Since then, approximately every 2 weeks I get a call regarding my outstanding bill. I have repeated the story countless times and informed them that I will not pay until the issue is resolved. Groundhog Day. Every two weeks I get the response "I will talk with my manager". During the last 3 calls I informed that I will never pay that bill. Today I got a letter threatening to send me to collections. I will not pay the bill regardless. I was with Haly for at least 22 years with great service. Total incompetence at Shipley Energy.

"SHIPLEY OIL CAUSED DAMAGE TO MY SIDING…"

SHIPLEY OIL CAUSED DAMAGE TO MY SIDING ON MY HOME WHEN REMOVING AN OIL TANK TO THE BASEMENT WHERE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE FIRST PLACE.THEY STATED THEY WOULD ORDER PIECES OF SIDING AND REPAIR IT.NOW THEY REFUSE TO DO IT.I AM FORCED TO TAKE THEM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT.I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH THIS COMPANY.STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM.

"Call the cops ! I have been robbed."

I have had Shipley for several years with decent rates but suddenly my price is DOUBLE what others are being charged. You would think being a loyal customer would be worth something but it is not. I would give them zero stars if I could I canceled with them last month but when I got my bill they are still on there.
Proceed with caution if you choose them I will not make the same mistake again, I will stick to Dominion as my gas supplier .

"15 years ago we put an addition on and…"

15 years ago we put an addition on and wanted to add central air to our existing house also. Shipley was the contractor who came up with a good way to have A/C in both the old section and new section. I had four estimates from 4 contractors and Shipley had the best solution for an installation which was problematic to design. The installation went well and the Trane system has worked without a problem of any kind for 15 years and it is efficient.
