We used Excel Currencies for a house purchase in France. Ian and the team were all very helpful and the exchange rate offered was decent.

The only slight pain was the volume of information that was needed to satisfy the AML people. We were buying from savings and had to evidence where money had come from years back. We had at one stage moved money between a savings account and our current account and even that had to be explained. If you do use Excel and are paying from savings I’d suggest making sure that you have every possible statement, certificate and tax return that you might need to demonstrate where your funds have been in hand before you start, otherwise it gets stressful.

Once we had satisfied the demands of the AML people everything proceeded very smoothly and efficiently. We would recommend Excel without hesitation.
