I have been taking golf lessons with Adam for the past few months and have had the best experience. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and really caters to all levels of golf experience. I am coming to the end of a 12 week course with Adam. I am a first timer to golf with no prior experience and I have really enjoyed every week. Adam is very knowledgeable golfer who breaks down the game in a very user friendly way. I am looking forward to continuing my coaching with Adam in the spring.

I started my golf journey with Rob Watkins (Grooves Golf, Rudding Park) as a complete beginner and have continued with regular lessons to develop all aspects of the game. The facilities available at Rudding Park are excellent and include indoor simulator, driving range, short and full course plus practice areas.

Rob has a relaxed and friendly coaching style and puts across complex swing techniques in bite size chunks. This layered approach means you can build up new skills in small steps whilst receiving lots of technical feedback including videos to reinforce teaching points.

At the start of this year we set out 5 targets around swing progression and scoring which we reviewed today and I’m pleased to say all have been met!
Looking forward to another successful year ahead. If you are prepared to put in the practise hours, I would definitely recommend Rob and Grooves Golf.

"Just finished a series of 5 lessons…"

Just finished a series of 5 lessons with Adam at Rudding Park. Like a previous reviewer I’ve been playing golf for a good few years now and was struggling with my fairway woods. Adam was recommended to fix the problem. However, I’d just had the one lesson before hurting my back. Adam was brilliant with this and tailored my lessons accordingly, starting with small putting drills and as my back improved we started chipping drills.
I found Adam’s way of teaching very refreshing for someone so young. He’s patient, respectful and extremely knowledgeable. I can’t wait to put into practice what he’s taught me, if only it would stop raining!!
I would recommend anyone wanting help with any part of their game to book lessons with Adam.

I’m now in my third bank of coaching sessions with Adam having never picked up a golf club until this year.

Firstly, Adam has been patient, very patient as I’m not exactly a natural.

However, Adam’s style of coaching along with his technical ability to break the game down into key components has made it so much easier for me to progress.

Adam uses videos and visuals which work well with my learning style.

The most important thing is that Adam is focused on the individual and what I need to improve my game and he coaches with a smile on his face.

Very important as I’m not the easiest of pupils!

So much so that Adam will now be also be coaching my son.

Highly recommend Adam, whatever your current level.

I’m in the middle of a series of five lessons with Adam Cattell at Grooves Golf, Rudding Park. I’ve been playing golf for years but recently had started to struggle with my swing and couldn’t work out how to get back on track (I’m sure many other gofers out there know just what I mean).
From the first session Adam (easily!) diagnosed the problem(s) and gave me just a couple of things to work on each week. His strategy worked well for me. I’m now hitting it much better and more confidently. Adam uses video quite a bit and my improvement from my embarrassingly bad first efforts can be seen in the more recent ones. Still much room for improvement, of course, but I’m now going in the right direction!
Adam is pleasant, friendly, patient, professional and, overall, an excellent coach. Highly recommended.

Had a great series of lessons with Calum. Great coach with very simple explanations to changes he wanted me to make. Perfect temperament for coaching. Putting lesson in particular was unreal. Immediate change & immediate improvement followed. He’s a great lad & a funny lad to be fair. Makes lessons much more fun for me.

After 30 years of playing rugby league I couldn't swing 'the PGA way' a lot of coaches teach. Callum took what I had and tweaked and refined it in a fun way with lots of banter. He took a genuine interest in my progress outside of the lessons and guided me from 14 down to 8 in just over 12 months. Highly recommended. The facilities offered at Grooves are also 2nd to none.

I've had three lessons with Callum Barker PGA over the last three weeks and his lessons have already improved my all round game. He gives you simple but very effective advice, which really improves your swing on a consistent basis. After three lessons I feel a lot more confident on the course and within three weeks I have gone from playing to 26 over par to 18 over par at Rudding Park. With three more lessons to go, I am confident with Callum's support I will be playing to nearer 12 over par. Highly recommended for any level of golfer!
