They then emailed more details about a claim they could make on my behalf to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme for compensation for an investment I made nearly 20 years ago based on a published prospectus that contained promises that subsequently proved false and baseless. Hallbrook took a formal statement from me over the phone, added this to legal arguments they had already prepared and submitted a claim on my behalf. The FSCS assessed and agreed compensation within just a few weeks and paid Hallbrook who immediately paid me net of their fee which I had agreed in advance.
