We can confirm that your motor finance agreement with BPF was subject to a discretionary commission arrangement. but we are not currently in a position to provide you with an outcome to your complaint.
As you may be aware. the FCA announced on 1th January 2024 that, owing to the high number of complaints to motor finance firms claiming compensation for commission arrangements, it will now be using its powers to review historical motor finance commission arrangements and sales across several firms.
On the 24th September 2024, the FCA announced that they will share the findings of their review and next steps in May 2025, when they will also consult with motor finance firms on any proposal to compensate customers, with confirmation of any compensation approach to be confirmed after 4th December 2025.
The FCA have extended the pause of the 8-week deadline for motor finance firms to provide a final response to complaints about motor finance agreements. Once the approach is confirmed. It is expected that motor finance firms will start to respond to customers from January 2026.
