I love Brindisa and am sorry to have to give it only 3 stars after my last online purchase. I’ve visited the Burrough Market shop and Tapas restaurant and bought on line before. All 5 star experiences. However my last order included Freshly Carved Eíriz Bellota 100% Ibérico Ham (£25). The label warns of variations in carving but this was uniformly disgusting. I love this ham but it should never be more than 50% fat and contain gristle that even after a minute of determined chewing has to be spat out. It was nothing like the picture on the packet. I will use Brindisa again for staples but never for meat.

The products received were of the usual high quality. I have taken a star off as the delivery was not made until early evening and the meat had start to defrost.
I would have thought that when a delivery contains a frozen element, that the delivery would be made early. This has not been a issue previously.

I have go-to ingredients I always get from Brindisa - particularly Marcona Almonds, bottled canellini beans and the like - and am always delighted by quality and speed of delivery. For salt cod for Brandade and for so many other things I make it a first port of call. Such good quality and a treasure trove of ingredients.
