"Anna is a star!!!"

I ordered a brother embroidery machine… which I needed for a certain deadline. The machine was completely out of stock (brothers fault not sewing studio) as my order was waiting to be fulfilled. A lovely lady called Anna helped me & she had incredible customer service. We sorted the issue quickly and a different embroidery machine arrived today!!! More than enough time before my deadline. I’m so thankful to Anna! I hope this review gets back to her. I’m so excited to set it up… it’s also ALOT bigger than I imagined hahah! Thanks guys, from Ella at @trueblue_designs xx

"My happy place"

I adore this shop and all the wonderful staff who work there. I walked in not even knowing how to thread a sewing machine. As I’ve learned they’ve been with me every step of the way, guiding me, advising me and helping me. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I don’t feel like a customer in there but a valued friend. Whether I’ve bought a machine or a button I’ve received service that is second to none. It really is my happy place.

I cannot praise this company enough. They are so helpful.I live on the Isle of Skye where there are no shops nearby to satisfy my quilting, patchwork and dressmaking needs. Thus, my usual ‘go to’ is online and usually The Sewing Studio. I love the emails with lots of lovely fabric selections (which are far too tempting)! Postage is always very prompt. This week, after years of dreaming and saving, I finally purchased my dream Bernina sewing machine. I placed the order on Monday morning and by early Wednesday I had received my new sewing machine which had travelled several hundred miles. There was no charge for delivery. When I ordered the machine, the ladies that I spoke to were so helpful. I can’t wait until we are able to travel down to Cornwall in our campervan and pay the shop a visit in real life. Thank you to everyone at The Sewing Studio for brilliant service, always great quality, being 100% trustworthy and for helping to keep me sane and creative during lockdown.

"Sales may not have your interest at heart"

I was in an interesting situation. I had ordered a 98£ Brother sewing machine. The next day I received a call to apologise for there being a stock mistake and was offered a 49£ more expensive machine from Jenome. I am new to sewing so I asked what the differences are, and was told there were none, the Jenome was just more performant.
However when it arrived I discovered it had one huge difference. The one I ordered was top loaded, whereas the one I was offered was front loaded. For N00bs like me this means you can't accidentally sew over the material, or it gets stuck. So TL;DR a more finicky machine. Significantly different in technique. And more expensive compared to other similar alternatives.
My partner convinced me to try and return it. And I managed to do that. However due to the additional payment the returns process is a lot harder. They chose not to return the whole sum through my initial form or payment (even though they could as I ordered a few other sewing materials from them). Had my partner not convinced me to return it I would not have...

It felt like I was tricked into purchasing a machine I didn't want. And had it not been for my partner I would not have returned it as it wasn't malfunctioning.
