"Dissatisfied."

I contacted Energylinx in Oct '17 as my tariffs were coming to an end. Because of a mistake Energylinx made by submitting an incorrect meter serial number, it has only just been rectified now, some 7 months later. The time, stress and money lost has been considerable so I will not be using Energylinx again.

"Shambolic"

I arranged an electricity switch through Energylinx but had to cancel because of an error with the address. Energylinx told me that the only way to correct the address would be to cancel the switch request. After they contacted me to say that they have cancelled the switch, I went directly to the energy supplier's website to start the switch over.

A month after, once my new switch was meant to have gone through, I contacted the energy supplier to see if everything was alright but they told me that they took the first payment and then received a request to cancel the switch from Energylinx. Basically Energylinx took their sweet time cancelling the first switch despite having told me it was already done. I was charged for the first bill and had to file an indemnity claim with my bank to get the money back.

This had been lot of hassle for nothing and I wish I had never got involved with Energylinx in the first place.

"Energylinx cashback issue - finaly resolved"

Update:
The issue was finally resolved thanks to Kirstin from Enerylinx.
It would have been much better (for all of us) if the process was smooth so that I did not have to waste so much time on the phone, writing follow up emails and reviews in the first place.
Anyway the cashback has been paid now.

Original message:

I used Energylinx several times in the past via cashback provider and I did not have problems neither with the switch nor with their cashback.

Last time, I used Energylinx direct cashback web site*.

The switch went smoothly in February 2017 and after following Energylinx cashback procedure, my claim was verified and accepted by Energylinx customer services in a phone conversation and email in early March, BUT the cashback was not paid!

I have spoken with their customer services several times and I was promised that the cashback will be paid in 1, 2, 3 working days etc. But still, the cashback was not paid.

* Note: Energylinx do 'offer' cashback via their own cashback website, which is still active at the time of writing. It comes second in a Google search with the term "Energylinx cashback".

"Avoid using Energylinx at all costs!"

My fixed rate plan with EON was coming to an end at the end of January. While on the EON website I clicked to find the best fixed rate offer available to me. I was directed to the Energylinx website. The best EON deal I could find was a 1 year fixed plan offering £75 cashback in the form of an E Voucher. I selected this plan. However, after 6-8 weeks I had not received my cashback so got in touch with EON. They advised that Energylinx hadn't told them I had taken out a new fixed term plan. Unbeknown to me I had been on EON's variable rate since my previous fixed plan expired. I contacted Energylinx to find out what had gone wrong. They state that they aim to respond within 24 hours. However, it has now been 8 days and I have not had the courtesy of a response. Avoid using Energylinx at all costs! They cannot even get the simple things right and then ignore you when you contact them!

"False Promises"

Like many others I chose Energylinx because they offer cash back to switch providers. Having done everything correctly, they refused to pay the cash back and offered no explanation or process of appeal. Having researched it online I see this is standard practice for them. Avoid, avoid, avoid as they'll probably do the same to you too.

"false promises - AVOID!"

Looking to change energy provider I searched around and found Energylinx's offer:
"Transfer your home energy using Energylinx and we will send you £17 cash-back for each completed transfer. Best of all we are 100% impartial and you can transfer to every single supplier in the UK Energy Market."

So I created an account with them and transferred both gas and electricity through them to a new supplier.

Energylinx further state that to claim the cashback you 'simply' need to send your copies of the confirmation emails - which I did duly once I received them from my new supplier.

At this point cashback payment was rejected with a brief comment that I didn't use a specific 'cashback link' which is nowhere to be found in the requirements and not pointed out anywhere at all on their website!

Obviously, the ONLY reason to create an account with them in the first place was the seemingly simple way to receive extra cashback. Disappointed not to have used another company now.

AVOID!
