To start, I would say that the communication was very good, did not wait above a few hours for a response. However, the reasoning for the 2 star rating was that David (the assigned broker) was quite negative and passive about our chances to gain a mortgage. This was surprising and a little disappointing (given that they advertise about providing this very service..) My wife has a CCJ (3 years old) and I have a fair score, all issues 5 years+. We approached with a hope of 5-10% deposit. He reviewed our credit files from 'check my score' and advised minimum 15% maybe even 20%. This was of course out of our reach and was quite deflating, we found ourselves giving him potential avenues to go down instead of him advising us?.....This quickly fell flat as he was dismissive of our chances and advised us to just keep saving......this was the stop point for us as we thought this would be the same outcome regardless of the broker......however, a few weeks later we had advice that another broker CLS maybe able to help. They undertook the same review and got us a decision in principle the next day with Nationwide for 10% LTV?.....subsequently, this was turned into a mortgage offer and we completed last week. I returned to review as if we had not found out about the other broker we would still be renting and saving off the back of the Habito / David's advice.
