After needing solar panels for my property for quite some time a friend told me about Nxgen. After a few phone calls with Tom, I was happy with his proposal and I decided to go ahead with it. They were very professional and courteous throughout the entire process.

Fast forward three months and they're fantastic! They'e cut my energy bill by more than half and are definitely worth the hassle of putting them up there. A big thanks to the team (especially Tom) at Nxgen Solar!

"When things go wrong - no help forthcoming"

When things go wrong, it is important that companies respond to messages and/or phone calls.
My in-warranty solar battery system is no longer working but NXGEN Solar have not answered my requests for help. Their 0800 phone number no longer works!
I don't even know if they are still in business.

I want to start off by saying a massive thank you to the team at Nxgen! They were courteous and professional throughout the whole process.

Tom was with us every step of the way and ran us through all of the best possible
solutions for our rather high energy bills. He's a good lad and quite knowledgeable for his age, and was happy to answer any concerns the Mrs and I had.

The install went smoothly and without any problems. We're now looking at a 65% annual reduction in our energy bills. We're very pleased with their service and recommend their wonderful team to anyone looking at solar!

Fantastic service from start to finish and overall a great customer experience.

I always like to do my homework before working with any company where I am going to make a potentially significant financial investment. There are lots of solar providers vying for your business today and so it can be a bit of a minefield on who to go with. For me though, after a few weeks of doing my research and speaking to different companies, there was a clear winner and that was NxGen. Reasons why:

Pre-Installation
1) I dealt with (from start to finish) Tom Symmonds (who was fantastic) at NxGen who listened to my requirements (both from a budget perspective and also with regards to my future plans to invest in an EV and what would be the best design going forward to accommodate this)
2) He suggested alternative cost effective design solutions to also incorporate my dormer flat roof to maximise the potential PV capacity (no other company I spoke to did this as they said it was too expensive, not practical and would not come in at my budget - it did!)
3) The price included no hidden costs - other companies, for example, mentioned at the last moment that bird nest protection was another £500+.
4) Offered the most performant panels (@440v) compared to other competitors (410 to 430v)
5) They did the survey on site rather than remotely (as other companies did)
6) I wanted the installation done within a month - they could (and did it) within 2 weeks after survey
7) Tom was really responsive and accommodating and never pushy. Other companies were constantly on my case to close the deal.

Installation
1) Scaffolding went up on the day as promised and the day before the solar panel installation
2) The scaffolding was meant to come down the day after the installation but I asked Tom if it could stay up over the weekend so i could do some much needed painting and trimming of trees!. That was no problem and they came today (Monday) to dismantle it.
3) All the hardware (panels, rails, batteries, and inverter) arrived on time the day before the installation
4) The Electrician and Panel Installer (Ivan - great guy) arrived early doors on the day of installation and the only hitch during the installation was that less rails than had been ordered were delivered.
5) This was quickly rectified with Tom delivering the additional rails required later on in the day which did push things back and meant Ivan ended up having to work to around 7pm and having to come back the next morning for an hour or so to install the bird next protection,
6) Next morning the panels, battery, inverter just started working as planned as soon as there was a little bit of cloudy sun!.

Post Installation
1) I have had a number of questions around the battery and inverter (discharge and throughput rates primarily) and Tom has been great in coming back to me promptly with answers
2) MCS certificate has been provided.

All that is left to do is to get set up to export back to the grid but that will take a week or two to set up but NxGen have that in hand before i go back to my utility company.

Even though the weather has not been great over the last few days after the installation the solar panel production has still averaged around 17KW a day which I have got to say I am pretty pleased with.

So, overall my experience of dealing NxGen has been a really good one and would highly recommend using them if you are considering going solar

Very pleased with my recent solar panel installation. From the initial quote and placing the order everything was very smooth and easy.
I never really believed the panels would be so effective. Since installation I have imported very little electricity from the grid and have actually exported quite a bit.
The installation has also added value to my house, not that I intend to move.
Always wanted to explore solar and very pleased with the result.
Many thanks to Tom and Allen for their expertise and to the fitters for a calm installation. Plus the scaffolding team who were prompt in removing the scaffolding after the installation.

"Nxgen Solar, no mess no fuss all done, thank you for a great job."

We agreed to have a survey of our property for Solar PV and Mr Chesney from Nxgen Solar contacted us and arranged a date to call.
Mr Chesney carried out the survey, and ensured we had clear understanding of how the solar energy generation systems work.
He then informed us that we would receive a full description of the system he would design for our property along with the generation figures with costs and savings.
The portfolio arrived and it was very clear and concise, however I did have some questions so I contacted Nxgen Solar and spoke to Mr Symmonds who dealt with all my queries.
Having agreed to have the install undertaken, a date was agreed for the Scaffold to be erected two nice chaps arrived protected my block paviours and put up the scaffold, swept up and left no mess no fuss.
On the agreed installation day the equipment arrived, along with all the necessary trades people to carry out the work.
The job went like clockwork, all the different trades worked together like a well oiled machine and within no time at all the job was completed and it just left the clearing up and commissioning.
This was carried out by Tom and Geevan, we did have some problems with the connection to the internet for my phone app and another dongle had to be obtained fitted the following day however the system was all up and running and generation free electricity.
The next day the bit of kit was installed and all is well.
The system is working really well for the time of year and weather conditions, showing a little over 30% savings so far also we have replaced the old gas range cooker with electric fan ovens and an induction hob so use less gas and more electricity.
We are very pleased we chose Nxgen Solar, the roof work is neat and tidy and the panels hardly notice on the roof as the installers made sure the panels fitted as low as possible and did a great job with the anti bird protection.
The electricians work in the loft is outstanding, kit and equipment all connected, cables securely clipped, very neat and tidy.
Well done Nxgen Solar a great job done by all the tradesmen, plus a big thanks to Tom and Geeven who made sure that all my questions got answered and the gremlin dongle was sorted.

Nxgen solar installers arrived on time as advised. They were polite and diligent whilst carrying out the installation of the roof panels and our battery system in the loft. The work was very neat and tidy, we were provided with regular updates with video footage from the roof of each stage of our project. Our home was left very clean and tidy.
