"A joke"

Music Gateway is a complete joke of a company who exploit young innocent musicians, convincing them that they can make money by using their platform, via sync/licensing deals.

They may have secured some syncs for a few of their members, but evidently they are continuously in financial difficulty - a quick check on the 'companycheck' website shows they've been in the red for the last 5 years, most recently by nearly 200k. Relying on user subscriptions in an attempt to thrive clearly isn't working.

How they can call themselves a credible licensing platform I've no idea.

"Utterly pointless"

Utterly pointless. I paid outright for an annual 'adventurer' subscription (£50 odd), assuming it would open up oppurtunities to submit music for sync projects. In reality, it's not possible to apply for the vast majority of the projects I'm interested in, without one of the premium subscriptions. So unless you commit to the more expensive influencer or game changer options - you're wasting your money. This isn't made clear by Music Gateway, but consider yourself warned.

Worse still, is that I submitted multiple tracks through to the general sync hub, as Music Gateway infer they'll represent you in general terms & put things forward on your behalf (for what - I'm unsure). I've not once even had any kind of acknowledgement that anything has been submitted properly &/or listened to. For clarity, this is release quality material - I've worked in the industry for 15 years & have hundreds of writing & production credits to my name.

Equally as frustrating is the somewhat limited amount of storage you receive for your money. My 500MB didn't go far at all, given that the projects I have been able to submit tracks for required wav files. As a result, on the odd occasion there was something I was able to submit music for - I had to be more selective than I would have liked.

All, in all, biggest waste of £50 I've ever blown. Not sure where all these positive trustpilot reviews have come from, I can only assume something shady is going on.

"Seems to have sold out"

If you're able to pitch for authentic 40s/50s/60s/70s or J-pop, K-pop, Chinese pop & choral music these guys will be perfect for you. You'll be persistently encouraged to spend more with them in order to "promote " your music. This is not a platform for the little guy who already has little or no money to invest. If you do sign up you're buying plenty of storage space and the opportunity to work with others like yourselves. MG seemed to have started off with great ideals but I feel has lost its way slightly (perhaps having to pay employees wages by getting it's money from its own customers) which is a shame.

These site is maybe good to sell you storage for your music. During corona i‘ll set up a similar site, sell you storage and hope 😂 Don’t like their business model! Don’t recommend and I think that most pro composers will agree
