I have never purchased points before but I needed some extra points to get some flights for my honeymoon. it was significantly cheaper than buying direct from airline. I was very hesitant incase it was all a scam but after reading reviews here I decided to take the chance and glad that I did! I was able to get an extra 20k points via the points trader for the same price as the airline. Will definitely use again. I have been a customer of The Points Trader for a couple of years and really enjoyed the service. Good customer support, and enjoyed the benefits when travelling.
However, mid last year, the points I received through Points Trader on my Aeroplan/Air Canada account have been blocked. I tried many different approaches to get them to reinstate my account, but with no result.
The Points Trader pointed out to the small print in our arrangement and basically left me out to dry and I lost over 12,000 US$.
So if it all works, I greatly recommend it to anyone, but be aware of the risk you're taking if something goes wrong!
