"Having done my gas courses here"

Having done my gas courses here, I can say that the staff and trainers know what they are doing. The staff were happy and helpful, and the trainers were knowledgeable. They made me feel at ease and helped where necessary

"Poor experience with E&G Training."

My experience E&G Training from the beginning wasn’t the best. First of all I never received a notification from the office that my ACS certificate had expired (because of this the process becomes more expensive) after talking to the receptionist who had a lack of personable telephone skills and was rude, she advised me it was sent out and it must have been my fault even though I checked my junk mail etc.

After taking part in the training which I found was to a reasonable standard the course moved to practical where I wasn’t particularly impressed as the lighting around the rigs and bays aren’t great and the paperwork and manuals are shabby and its clear that no money has been invested in this area for years and if you’ve paid money for this service (which they seem to forget) this is poor.

The theory side of the course which was multiple choice, took place in the bays which was very noisy and disruptive with the Assessors chatting to one another, also when other employees around the unit (who are not even connected to you directly) get bored, they come down and join in the chat and they have no regard to exam conditions, when In reality the correct conditions should be followed with one Assessor and a quiet room, but its clear they don’t want to do this, as they want to be around their mates and if they were to follow the correct exam conditions, then I am sure they would get bored. In my opinion they have become very complacent as its more about what suits them at the expense of you the customer.

I had to remind them that I’m paying for this service and what service I’m receiving is inadequate. This was put right for me, but why should I have to bring this up. It should be at the forefront of their thoughts when offering a professional service.?

In 5 years time when I have to renew my certification I probably wont use E&G Training as I believe they need to up their game and this involves spending money on improving the unit and training the assessors to maintain a level of professionalism as the chatting is more like being in a boys club then an educational/study environment. I have no confidence that I will receive a reminder anyway.
