I rang up to enquire, explaining I only want life insurance if and when I’m taking on a mortgage as the monthly payments are high. In gathering information to get a quote he told me it’s only a few minutes and each time he called when I was at work and didn’t call back after the same evening when he’d promised to, he called the next day and then it was so long I missed a more important call. I had to ring off. He again the next time said it’s only about two mins and then was about 25 minutes. He was on so long I had to leave because I was expecting other calls twice. Then he said he needed bank details and I refused saying I’m not taking it out yet, I will provide them when I decide to take it if I get a mortgage and need it. He said “well in order for Aviva to know you’re serious we have to provide it” then I still refused and he persisted saying we can’t get any advice from aviva without it so that they know you’re serious. I refused several times and he persisted and persisted after I’d said no. He said “look give me a bank account you don’t use if you have one so you know nothing will be taken out, these calls are recorded I’m being honest with you” so I gave him a dormant account details. He said “We don’t do anything with those details only let them know you’re serious”. Then the next day when reassured was closed on Good Friday, I get an email from aviva saying they set up a direct debit on my account. Suffice to say I’m not going to go through this company as they can’t be truthful and are too pushy and should explain the steps instead of pretending they’re getting you a quote when instead they’re pushing a plan on you and opening it up.

I want to first of all thank the broker that talks me through the process. She made the whole process very relaxed and provided detailed information about each stage of the questions. I always have the phobia of speaking and giving my personal details to someone I can't see face to face, but I felt comfortable with the broker
