"The trip itself was great, HOWEVER......"

The trip itself was great. However, it was a lot more physical than we had anticipated. The trip should be described as a trip for under fifty years old, or for those over fifty who are accustomed to doing physical outdoor activities.
We were a party of six. Half of us were unable to keep up with the length of hikes, or the uphill stairs. There was snorkeling and kyaking but it was very difficult to get back up on the boat. Several men had to pull us up which was embarrassing! Not to mentioned it caused cuts and bruises on my knees and shins. Walking over a lava field was GREAT, but a few of us fell. The lava is extremely sharp and I got cuts on my arms and hands.
The best part of the cruise was the guide, Chris. He is so knowledge, personable, and kind, I would do it all over just for Chris' wisdom!
The crew on the ship is very friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed or wanted. Between Chris and the ship's crew, it was a trip of a lifetime!

Southern Explorations is an EPIC organization! We took a trip to Peru & Ecuador in August. I had a few unexpected health issues that required a hospital stay. The owner Justin reached out to us daily to alter plans according to my health. Our guide Jose, was INCREDIBLE!!!!! This was the best travel experience of our lives. Jose stayed by our sides late nights in the hospital. He went above and beyond our expectations again and again. Our driver Fausto and our guide Jose are family now. Justin provides the travel experience of a lifetime!!

"Wonderful trip to 🇵🇪 Peru"

Wonderful trip to 🇵🇪 Peru. Our Guide for Machu Picchu and surrounding areas, William was excellent and I would highly recommend him. So many wonderful things to see in Peru could have stayed months. Souther Explorations did fantastic job when one of the airports closed without notice and they arranged flights and transportation on short notice to keep are trip smooth.

Southern Explorations did a wonderful job of arranging our recent trip to Peru. We spent 20 days there. We moved around quite a bit and it would have been very difficult for us to make all the arrangements needed to get around, see and do all of the things we did. Additionally, all of the guides and drivers were excellent and truly seemed committed to making sure we had a great trip. Our accommodations were also very good. When the airport in Juliaca closed and our flight was cancelled, Southern Explorations immediately made other arrangements for us which saved us a great deal of stress - we didn't need to spend our vacation time figuring out what to do. I would HIGHLY recommend Southern Explorations to arrange your trip!!!

"Ecuador and Galapagos"

My wife and I traveled to Ecuador and Galapagos Islands in late August 2022. The travel consultant at Southern Explorations worked with us to come up with a personal itinerary for this bucket list trip. From the moment we landed in Quito until our departure home everything ran smoothly. The hotels were amazing - especially Pikaia - and all of the guides were excellent. We had a minor blip with a short illness and the local representatives on the ground were extremely helpful and easy to contact. We even received a call from the US from our travel representative at Southern Explorations to make sure all was okay with us. The information on the Southern Explorations App is extremely useful before departure and on the ground. We will definitely use Southern Explorations for our next trip to Central and South America.

Amazing experience!!!! I would 100% recommend Southern Explorations to anyone who wants a stress free journey. From Kaitlyn Lavalette who set up our trip to Peru, Machu Pichu, then to the Amazon and finishing with 5 days in the Galapagos on a catamaran to Jose Luis Callapina, our guide in Peru was invaluable!!! My daughter had some serious medical problems and he never left our side even in the hospital so he could interpret. His knowledge of the Incas and Peru was unbelievable. And also, Justin Laycob, founder and CEO of SE called to make sure we were cared for. Jose and he kept up communication. Not having to worry about transportation, getting hotels etc, was all taken care of. If you want to be spoiled, make your plans with Southern Explorations.
