"Mixed Feelings: High Costs and Underwhelming Performance"
I recently dealt with two products, and while there were some positives, the negatives stood out more.
First, I installed a new HTX 7'6 plow on my 2021 Ram 1500. Upgrading to a 2025 Ram 1500 required me to buy a new wiring harness ($400) and a module adapter kit ($500) due to the LED headlights. The additional cost was excessive, and it felt like the company could’ve offered a more cost-effective solution for loyal customers.
As for the Turf Defender, it didn’t perform as expected. While it sounded like a great idea, it ended up tearing up gravel, reduced scraping efficiency, and made the plow heavier without adding significant benefits.
While I appreciate the innovation behind these products, the high costs and underwhelming performance left me disappointed. There’s potential, but the execution and pricing need serious improvement.

Put a new HTX 7'6 plow on a 2021 Ram 1500. Bought new 2025 Ram 1500. Have to buy new wiring harness and new light adapters for new truck because of led headlights on new truck. Problem is they are charging $400 for wiring harness and $500 for module adapter kit. This is insane the cost of these, and Boss should be ashamed to charge that amount!!

"This is for the turf defender product"
This is for the turf defender product, not the plow.
Don’t waste your money on the turf defender, it’s not worth the time or hassle. It still tears up the gravel, completely takes away the scrape factor at the same time somehow. All it does is make the plow heavier.

"in cold temp below 28 degrees the salt…"
in cold temp below 28 degrees the salt compacts . only way to pull salt out is taking it a part , dig in until clear.
if you install a reverse button or a manual mode extension on the end like a crank (removable) on the auger , it will allows to back and forward .
I own 4 and all sucks when stuck . other wise good salter
