It was a great experience. However if you are going to the circus at half 2 do not get the pick n mix deal as you only get to do the circus as everywhere closed at 5 unless it is certain days. After we this occurred the kind Finn of Blackpool tower was very helpful and give us two more site seeing venues to use Friday

I live in Australia and was contacted by Blacktower to ‘assist me’ with my review of my pensions in both the UK and Australia.
I had a very open discussion with them and provided personal information on the promise they would assist me with advice as to how best protect myself from unnecessary taxes and fees.
The call was finished with me to send them information to carry out a review of my position, then silence and no response to my follow up emails.
Once they extracted personal information from me, if my position is not of interest to them as business, at least have the common decency to inform me that I don’t meet the requirements!!
Clearly out for no one but themselves which I know is how a business works, but have some morals you parasites!

I was persuaded to invest in the Utmost Vision policy, accepting the recommendation of BlackTower. Taking the advice given at face value and without reading the small print I signed up to the policy, on the basis that it is the job of a financial advisor to give advice. The main selling point was the plan's "flexibility", however this "flexibility" does not extend to any changes in circumstances. The fee remain the same whether the circumstances. So, on an original investment of EUR68,500 the last 3 years' fees alone have come to a total of EUR24,955.

Clearly this is a cash cow for both Utmost and Blacktower and has no benefit to the customer.

"Wealth Management - but whose wealth?"

I was persuaded to invest an initial monthly payment in the Generali (now Utmost) Vision Plan. I was then sent on a temporary posting with an uplift in salary and approached Blacktower for advice as to how best to invest the temporary uplift and was advised to increase my payments into the plan. The advisor was perfectly aware that this posting and my ability to pay into the plan was time limited and that I intended to use the savings to retire early, so that conversion to a full paid-up policy was inevitable.

Unfortunately, I trusted the advice that I was given. As a result, on an original investment of 68500 EURO, the “administrative” fees have been increasing exponentially, in 2020 they amounted to 7,957.25 EURO and 2021 to 10,668.27 EURO. The penalties for early cashing in of the policy essentially amount to the total remaining fees. This is a common issue with the policy that is well documented on Trustpilot - look it up.

So do not trust the advice that you get from Blacktower – by accident or by design the advice that I received has cost me tens of thousands of euros in fees and leaves me exposed to the entire risk of the investment.
