"Don’t file claims with Peoples Trust"
They act like your best friend, but file a claim and you are headed for Cancelation. I filed one claim to clean up our home after a sewer back up. Had I known what I know now I would not have called them.
My next call was to report a theft, that I filed with the Police Dept. unfortunately I had no pictures of proof of the loss. So they did not have to pay out. The next call to PT Ins. I had an issue with my AC leaking water, on the floor, I was not educated to what could be the cause and PTInsurance always said to call them ASAP for any issues. So I did, they sent out an adjuster who explained the situation to me. Once I understood what the problem was I did not elect to file a claim. I found out that because I had called in a potential claim 3 times ( they only paid out once) that was cause for them to cancel me.
I would not recommend this Company. Unless you NEVER plan to file a claim.

I am disgusted with People's Trust! They were the first quote of several I gathered while shopping for new home insurance. My mistake was giving my loan servicing number, but I signed nothing, did not fax the required docs, and voicemailed the rep to hold off until I made a final decision at the end of the week. I cancelled the immediately scheduled home inspection via email. Then, I formally declined the People's Trust policy online. I chose and signed documentation with a less expensive company, Focus Insurance. Yet, I received a People's Trust policy confirmation in the mail, anyway! So I called People's Trust and explained AGAIN that I'd gone with another company. Nevertheless, People's Trust contacted my loan servicer and got them to pay out my premium to them. How? Did they forge my documentation online? We will see.

"DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE PLEASE!"
DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE PLEASE!! I want to make sure everyone can be safe and rely on their homeowner insurance when they need them the most. Unfortunately they have never helped me because I got my lawyer to help me since they were lacking on my claim. I am a sick person with asthma and they did not help me with my roof problem so I needed to do something fast.
They do not care about anyone's situation. They only care about the thousands of dollars I paid them for over 10 years. Thank you for nothing Peoples Trust. I hope you are doing awesome with my money.

From the prompt inspection and acceptance of our roof claim caused by wind damage to the timely professional workmanship done by their Rapid Response team we could not be more pleased with Peoples Trust. We were waiting to write a review based on whether our annual policy premium would increase substantially upon renewal after filing this claim. We were again pleasantly surprised that it did not and upon speaking to a representative many more discounts were brought to our attention which we are now benefiting from. Highly recommend!

This is an update from my review of Feb. 18. After being contacted by a customer service rep, I was very happy with their response, they assured me that this was the exception rather than the standard and I was a valued customer. I will update this review in 6 mos., until then I have renewed my coverage with P.T.I. and hope to upgrade my rating at that time.

The price is better,
I just wish you would make is clear to any lay person what IS and isn't covered. All these addendums and other junk that aren't coherently put together make me feel like whatever I might make a claim on that you will come up with a reason why you won't pay. Oh sure it was buried in section 17, under subsection G, article 2, but I'd need a lawyer to sort that out. JUST MAKE it plain!!!!
