I always use Livingston to ship my vehicles from Edmonton to Toronto. The service from Danielle and Michelle are over the top. Great customer people and always a pleasure.

"I guess they got my car here"

I guess they got my car here, damaged, 3 weeks later then expected. I was told there was no damage to my car before they dropped it off. There was obvious damage anyone could see and another scratch that was difficult to see. When the car arrived I called, and not surprisingly the person I just spoke with 5 minutes earlier was "out". I made a note of the damage I did see and signed the form. I then later saw the other damage and called, was told that because I signed the form at drop off I was not able to make that claim too. I now have a $500 deductible to pay, on top of fixing the $1600 scratch that they refuse to pay because I didn't write it down.

For a company putting a lot of stock on a poorly worded document as their liability defense, they make a lot of mistakes on the claims side.

Find a different company to go with. Can't be worse then this one.

Cost to ship $1,600, cost to repair bumper $1,250, cost to repair scratch $1,600, deductable $500. For a toal of $4,900. Livingston has agreed to pay $750, which leaves me a total of $4,150.

"We were told that the vehicle would be…Enclosed During Transport."

We were told that the vehicle would be in an "enclosed" rail car when it left Vancouver. Upon retrieval, it was VERY obvious that it was NOT. No other discrepancies, but it was a surprise. A serious car clean was needed. Other than that, the owner, ( my niece) is happy to have her vehicle.

My experience was a nightmare until Greg and Alana took care of my case. Clear information, constant follow-up, empathic support. Very pleased with the service from Livingston. I called a couple time wondering statuses and they gave me an answer every time. The car came in a timely manner and actually showed up early!

"Thank you Mr. Santini!"

Mine is a long and sad story. I will make it short. I bought a car from Vaughan, ON and the dealer uses Livingston for shipping. I was told that it normally takes 2-3 weeks to ship to Edmonton, AB. After almost FIVE weeks of waiting, I was done waiting. I contacted Mr. Santini, and literally within a few short hours, my car was delivered safe and sound! I am sure that there were others involved, in getting the car to me, and I thank them all as well. And I understand that most, if not all, of the delay was due to CN Rail, and not Livingston's fault.

Part 2 - UPDATE

After posting this review - I was immediately contacted by a Livingston employee. I explained my experience. They immediately explained the reason for the discrepancies/delays - he also acknowledged that my experience is an outlier and will be making tweaks to ensure smoother future transactions. (although this didn't reduce the time it took to get my car, I certainly appreciate any organization that learns from their shortfalls)

Domenic, then took the time to maintain communication with. Once the vehicle was ready for pick up - there was a discrepancy in damage reporting. Domenic took the lead, conducted an investigation and concluded an outcome in a quick and reasonable manner.

To add - the team is trying to help out by holding accountability to all parties involved.

I wish I could it a full 5 - but I will say 'nice recovery'.

Will do business again.

I've used Livingston for business while working at auto-auctions and dealerships. Their reputation was good there, so I saught their services thinking it would be the same level of service for their 'Civilian' customers.

My credit card was charged on 6/12/2020. That is where communication lapsed withing Livingston. I was told I would get a call to arrange drop off of my IS-F in Calgary - two days passed and no call. I followed up on the third day and sales dept apologized. I Got the call on 6/15/2020 and immediately dropped off the vehicle the same day. I called the vehicle tracking phone number provided every 5 days and was told by the Vaughan office there was no tracking for the car. on the 9th day, I called Calgary only to be told the vehicle had not been loaded - they apologized saying "we told them to load the car!" (during this time, there was a hail storm in Calgary). I asked the CSR, politely to call me once there is an update. Two days later on 6/26/2020, I get a email saying my car has finally been loaded and enroute to Vaughan with a eta of July 6th.

I'm writing this today because Vaughan is telling me the rail isn't here yet and won't be available for pick up until early next week because offloading the train takes 2-3 days after the train arrives.

We're well into the 4th week, going onto the 5th. I haven't received my car and no-one can give me an ETA. I can only hope there is no damages incurred while in Livingston possession - but not only that 5 WEEKS

(there was also a hail storm in Calgary and I have no idea if Livingstons "enclosed transport" promise covers the holding area for the vehicles while awaiting loading)

If you're reading this and thinking of sending your personal vehicle - use TFX International - my friend shipped his beloved BMW M3 from Vancouver to Toronto a week after I dropped mine off. He was able to electronically track his car every step, fully enclosed trailer & he got his car on July 2nd whilst paying only $200 more than I did! (remember, he's further away from Calgary!)


All in all - great people at the other end of the phone/email; but a sever lack of internal communication.

Two stars for the benefit of the doubt that Livingston holds up their end of the deal.

"NEVER GO WITH THEM!!!!"

If I could give the company a rating of -5 stars I would! They never once updated me I couldn’t track the vehicle. To even get in contact with them was the hardest thing of my life. And it took 2 months for me to get my car from Ontario to Edmonton.. then 8 days for my car to get off rail when they said 1-3 days. WORST EXPERIENCE!
