Snugs Custom Fit

"Fantastic isolation, let down slightly by design and absence of customer service"
I've been using Snugs Pro earphones with my Shure 535 headphones for the last six months. They were a little fiddly to fit in the ears at first and I used some of the supplied lubricant, but after a week or so this isn't required at all and taking them in and out becomes second nature.
Isolation from outside noise is great - your music needn't be loud to hear perfectly and they are fantastic for the tube/train. If you want to talk with anyone on your journey, you'll most likely have to take them out, which takes a few seconds, but this is no issue. It's not quite the same as noise cancellation as you can still hear feint bits and pieces, but the difference over standard headphones is very stark.
I have found however that the connection between the Shures themselves and the Snugs does degrade over time and it becomes increasingly easy for them to slide out. Cleaning them with soapy water to remove grease etc makes no difference. Once they're in it's fine, but if you're travelling with them in your pocket, there's a real chance of losing the Snugs, which are costly to replace.
Contacting Snugs (first via the form on the website, then via the info email) to see how I might be able to improve the situation or clean my Snugs effectively, they unfortunately failed to reply at all.
All in all, I do find them great, but the slight issues I've had and the lack of support will mean I consider other options should I lose one.
