"No refund for return postage of a faulty item"

I needed a replacement remote for my roller garage door and ordered as recommended by Stephanie at Gate Remotes.

Remote received was faulty so I returned by signed for post, as advised to by Gate Remotes and was told I would be reimbursed for the return postage (if I provided proof of postage). I only received a refund for the original postage not the return postage. So I contacted them and Gate Remotes told me they couldn’t refund this despite me including the post office receipt for proof of postage.

I contacted CAB who confirmed under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that if goods bought online are faulty or not fit for purpose, I am entitled to a full refund including any return postage paid.

Despite this, Gate Remotes remained adamant that they couldn’t refund the postage I paid to return the item. So I am out of pocket. I should not lose out financially as a result of Gate Remotes providing me with a faulty product and consider this very unprofessional.

I tried several times to speak to a manager, only to be told each time that no manager was available. I finally sent an email for the attention of Ed Gitsham and have had no response.

I would not use or recommend this company again.

Needed an extra remote fob for my garage door. It was an old system and I couldn't source one anywhere. Purchased a remote receiver to add on to my system. Very easy to install but couldn't get it to operate the door. Edd at Gateremotes couldn't have been more helpful. 5 min phone call with him and problem solved. A switch on my main board needed altering. Job done. Would highly recommend the firm

Excellent service & advice on getting the right remote control fob. I have used gateremotes.co.uk a couple of times now & I can't fault them. They also supply easy to follow instructions for setting up. If in doubt just give them a call describe your system & I'm sure they'll point you in the right direction.
