We made the best of a long layover at Heathrow by joining a Fat Tire tour. Despite the online booking saying it was full, we contacted the administrative office by email and Julia was incredibly helpful not only in ensuring we could in fact join a tour, but also in giving us detailed directions and some more information. It was super easy to get to the meeting point via underground. Our guide, Fran, was perfect: enthusiastic, friendly, informative and very funny. The other participants on our tour were easy going, companionable and everyone enjoyed the lovely day of cycling. Adult bikes were 3-gear cruisers with wide, cushiony seats and were in adequate working order. We appreciated that the tour was mostly through parks and bike paths and had limited time alongside traffic on roads. Instead of eating lunch during the mid-ride break, we spent 45 minutes at the national gallery. I highly recommend doing this!

We booked a Versailles Bike Tour with Fat Tire on line in the US several weeks prior to our arrival in Paris. The day before our tour my daughter became sick and could not go on the tour. I sent an email and chat to explain my dilemma the staff was able to get back to me quickly and was extremely helpful in getting us re-scheduled. We had to pay a bit extra due to extra fountain shows at the palace but we were so happy that they could accommodate us. The tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable of the history of France and Versailles. My only disappointment with the tour was that it occurred on a day that Versailles was hosting one of the largest running events of the year. We had to navigate our way on bikes through thousands of runners which was not only difficult it was dangerous and very stressful for both myself and the runner. In the future when I book with Fat Tire Tours, I will be sure to ask if we will need to navigate through a running event. This was the only reason that I did not give the tour a 5 star rating. It was a lovely day none the less.

Fantastic Experience! We did tours in Paris and Barcelona and it was the best we could have hoped for! Guides Tansy (Paris) and Kassidy (Barcelona) were a perfect fit, fun, knowledgeable & we felt safe in their hands! If you're thinking of doing this, and can ride a bike, DO IT! (I'm 64 and went with my 19 year old grand daughter and we both had a great time!)
