Bhupendra Sharma was an EXCELENT GUIDE and an asset to TransIndus.
Value for money as always.
Shan't be using Jet Airways again as recommended by TransIndus.

"Emerald Isle"

We really enjoyed our trip to Sri Lanka on 16 Feb- 1st March 2019.
Our guide Namal Silva was excellent, friendly, kind, diplomatic
and efficient. So were the driver and helper on the bus. The bus was extremely comfortable and we did not have to worry about anything!
Highlight activities: everything was great, but we would like to pick
out one of the best days which was not listed on our itinerary when we were staying at Cinnamon Lodge: we had a 'village' day when we had a canoe ride, went on a tuk tuk and local transport and watched a traditional meal being prepared and ate it and then we went to Minneriya Park to see the elephants. We had great views of elephants.
At Kandy we all really enjoyed the Botanical Gardens and the traditional dancing.Everyone enjoyed the spice garden and learning about traditional medicine.
Just a few minor criticisms for future consideration:
Our party felt that the hotels were excellent with the exception of the Swiss Residence in Kandy, where the buffet was mediocre and the pool and rooms difficult to reach with lots of stairs.
The Cinnamon Lodge was beautiful with a fantastic pool which we did not have time to enjoy as the schedule was so packed! An hour pool time would be nice.
The minibus which took us up to Horton Plains was driven at breakneck speed along narrow roads with hairpin bends with the dangerous driver trying to overtake continually. Hire a more sedate one?
Our party were not interested in luxury shopping stops such as gem stores and silk saris.
Recycling: we got through a lot of plastic water bottles and wet wipes on the bus. Without being familiar with recycling facilities in Sri Lanka, is it possible to ensure that the water bottles are recycled and the wet wipes are replaced with something more environmentally friendly?

"Wonderful Classic India +Kerala…"

Wonderful Classic India +Kerala February 2019
From start to finish we had a fantastic experience.
We were met on time at every destination.
Hotels in the main were good, don’t confuse 5* India with 5* Europe they are not the same, that said hospitality was excellent.
Would prefer not to have stayed in Khajuraho hotel The Clark’s. this needs revising very dated.
Would not stay at Zuri in Kumarakom Kerala again due to the room cleanliness, our first room was dark and dingy with a damp smell all tolerable however the cleaning routine was VERY poor the floors and bathroom were filthy I scrubbed the shower area with the toothbrushes from the amenities pack VILE. we complained to our rep and were moved to another room, this was better but the cleaning methods are not good enough, our final night and the room was plagued by giant ants. The pool hadn’t seen a clean in I don’t know how long with no evidence of chlorine. This was such a disappointment for us as it was meant to be a place of relaxation at the end of our tour and it fell short. Sad to make the comments because the staff are lovely and the grounds kept lovely too. food was good though.

The organisation of the tour and the assistance given pre travel was excellent. Not everything went to plan in India - itineraries changed causing some missed opportunities but also unexpected delights - a very varied experience. Don't go to India expecting arrangements to be fixed! Overall the tour was excellent with superb guiding provided by the Indian tour guides and great accommodation. The Indian nation are so friendly and welcoming.

"Our trip the Delhi and Kerala"

We have already sent a letter to explain our views. In short we had a fantastic holiday but there were a couple of problems mainly in the first part of the holiday.
1. The amount of tipping seemed excessive especially when service was poor.
2. The Lalit Hotel was expensive - service and two taxes were added to everything which were pricey to begin with. Service was dreadful in the evening. There was nowhere else to eat and have a drink in the near vicinity and we did try!
3. The trip from Ranthambore to Delhi was atrocious. The train strike was unavoidable but the coach and the route/road were dreadful.

The second part of the holiday in Karnataka and Kerala was excellent. The venues were great, food lovely and the driver good.
