Farrow & Ball

"Run away from Farrow and Ball, use other brands who care about your experience."
I ordered Serge which was a Liberty colour. I have used it in the Estate Emulsion before.
Across several batches it was all good. -and compatible, which usually shows that quality control is good. I have been a F&B customer for 25 years, and my father for many years before that.
Sadly, I also ordered the same colour in the acrylic eggshell.
It was SO different, and so impossible to do the “colour wash” effect that I’ve done with Dulux Heritage in other rooms.
Worst of all, their customer service is SO BAD. Dreadful and arrogant.
They make out YOU are wrong. Refuse to refund and also take a while.
They called me a liar for daring to disagree with them.
Despite uploading pictures with some skirting overlaid on top of the emulsion, and also having used the EXACT same process across the two
These lying and ignorant “service” people said “it’s because of the sheen.”
This alone tells you they don’t understand colour tinting. Yes, refractivity and coefficient of reflection can alter colour perception, but NOT tint, perhaps tone can be incompatible but I’ve spent years working with digital and physical medium artists to produce spectral analyses.
They called me a liar and said if I get some of the same sheen (in their case “dead flat”) it would give the same colour wash look.
Tell Akzo Nobel (Dulux) it escaped them, and they can happily produce the same colour in different sheens.
Pathetic performance and even worse customer service.
I asked for a refund of 2.5l of acrylic eggshell and they declined.
How embarrassing. I will ensure nobody I know orders their paint again.
I know several better alternatives. I am glad my father died before seeing what a shambles this terrible company have become. He defended them to SO many people in his 48 years as a professional decorator in high value and listed houses.

"Shocking coverage "
We ordered dead flat Verte de Terre and Pointing. The coverage of the Pointing has been disastrous, despite us prepping the walls properly, sanding and using primer. Farrow and Ball's calculator describing how much of the Pointing paint we'd need has proven a massive underestimate. It's so patchy and we've barely managed more than one coat, so we're going to have to order even more paint, taking us way beyond budget. Lesson learned, next time we will colour match or go with another company

"I would never recommend farrow and ball…"
I would never recommend farrow and ball !! We started to paint skimming stone yesterday & after prepping & sanding we did the first coat & it’s awful , so many patches & low coverage areas. Bought some many buckets & wasted 💰 regretting !! Please buy dulux or any other brand that won’t robe you!!!! Hating it

"DO NOT USE...get a colour match!!!"
Absolutely awful product for use on mdf cabinetry! The Estate Eggshell is dreadful, does not go off in time stated on tin, in fact, takes 3-4 times longer! Does not flat off, does not lose lines or roller pattern even after using 3 different roller and a brush for comparison! And when you try to de-nib between coats, it rubs the layer off, sanding is impossible as it seems to melt the product! Yes they have a lovely range of colours but the actual product is terrible! Find a colour and get a match done in a much much superior product. Thanks for reading, hope i can help someone!

"Absolutely delighted"
Absolutely delighted with the finish of the paints I have recently used for our dining room; Sudbury yellow and Lamp Room Grey ( both Modern Emulsion finish). The room only gets morning sun and can be quite dark but the yellow has given it a lovely brightness to it.

"Edinburgh Consultancy and Stockbridge…"
Edinburgh Consultancy and Stockbridge store - outstanding consultancy service from Ross Drummond who interpreted our vision into a cohesive colour palette. Affirmed our own thoughts but made innovative professional suggestions that linked the whole apartment refurb project. If you are sitting on the fence about using this service jump off it and dive in - worth every penny.
Followed up today with visit to store to collect some samples prior to receiving full consultancy report and equally lovely helpful and professional service from in store.
Thank you all. Very excited to get the transformation underway now.

"Frais export"

"Excellent service and advice "
The team at the Blackheath branch are excellent. Everyone I have spoken to has been really friendly, professional, provided excellent service and advice. Nothing was too much trouble for the team. The quality of the product is excellent as you’d expect.

"Invaluable colour guidance and help"
I popped into my local Blackheath Farrow & Ball this morning to buy some sample pots. My plan was to just tell the staff which colours I needed, buy them and leave. The staff member I spoke to was incredibly helpful. She asked me some questions about the rooms I will be decorating and then went through possible colours with me. She was respectful of the colours I had in mind but was able to guide me re tones of the colours and I came away with fewer pots (which saved me money) but more confident that I would find a colour that I was happy with.
I highly recommend their professional service.
