My moving day - Friday (abbreviated)
We have used Seb for many years. The test of anyone is not how they deal with things when everything is running smoothly but how they react when things go wrong.
10.30 Solicitor calls “ you’re mortgage monies are not coming through” . Response Panic and a few choice words. (95% of our possessions were on the removal van).
10.35 Call to Seb at JLM “whats going on” . Seb “I’ll come back to you.”
11.00 Explanation: The monies were requested 3 days after the mortgage offer expired (16 days prior to completion) but no one at the mortgage company told anyone. Seb says he will do his utmost to sort it.
11.05 Long conversation with solicitor who says it will be a miracle if Seb can sort the mortgage offer today. Solicitor suggests he will try and find another solution.
12.30 Our buyer is pressing for completion. Our seller is refusing to cooperate and will be serving notice to complete.
13.00 We complete our sale and are homeless. Back home to my parents.
13.30 Removers chasing for news of completion.
15.00 Removers say they will have to return to base.
15.30 Seb says mortgage offer is on the way. Removers have left and don’t work weekends.
16.30 We complete.
Seb has been a warrior and is our hero. Monday - We finally move in.
They say moving house is stressful but blimey this takes the biscuit.
Suffice to say we will continue to use Seb (JLM) for all our future mortgages.
