Please do not use Source Insurance even if they are recommended to you by a broker as I was, they do not offer a robust panel of insurers and they are terribly unreliable. They clearly do not value their long standing customers. You are better of using a platform like compare the market. I had no problem finding appropriate home insurance that very day I received their upsetting cancellation letter.

Terrible experience. Cancelled policy, as got better deal elsewhere, only to discover they set up a new DD on my bank account without my knowledge or authorisation and have been taking payments for 7 months. I have no policy paperwork or any contact from them to say that a new policy and DD will be setup. Spent 25 mins on phone getting nowhere, told I would be put through to the complaints team, after being on hold for 5 mins, I was conveniently told that no one in the complaints department was available, and I will supposedly get a call later today. Bank now investigating and has been reported to the financial ombudsman

I have held my insurance policy for 2 years with Source insurance broker, who was recommended to me as I bought a house with a subsidence issue 10 years previous, which was repaired and passed as structurally fit for purpose, a house I bought with my fiance in 2018.The premium for 2018 was high due to subsidence, and higher again by 100 pounds in 2019 and higher again in 2020 by 100 pounds making the policy renewal cost £845 pounds,with no claims.When I contacted Source they informed me that Penn underwriters have now classified Uxbridge postcode as a subsidence risk area of London although there is no geological evidence to support this, also Source claimed that Penn is the only company willing to quote. this forced me to shop around and research the market, and to my astonishment I obtained a mirror image policy for half the value they quoted. I now feel I have been ripped off and when I contacted Source to cancel, the agent James blamed their lack of insurance companies on their panel and justified the cost on that basis. Feel ripped off.
